Default Week 12 in the books for Frenzy. We still know Nothing

Week 12 is in the books. Two more games to go until the playoffs.

Side point: coaches stink! Anyone who played Ahman Green, Chris Brown, Lee Suggs or Duce Staley knows my pain (I have three of the four). Don’t say they’re going to play on Sat (Suggs, Brown & Staley), then less than an hour before kickoff (while yours truly is driving in the middle of the Appalachian Mountains) announce that they will NOT be starting, you understand my gripe….grrrrr

East
Parkwood Predators (8-4) at the Indiana Undead (6-6).

Wow. I had a feeling this was going to be a close game and Undead could possibly pull the upset. That’ll teach me not to go with my instincts. Undead keeps their playoff hopes alive. They are not technically out of the race, though they do need some help to make the race for the big dance. Preds had HUGE days from Brooks, Pittman, Stokley & Tomlinson. But somehow, 156.75 wasn’t enough versus the Johnsons and Harrison. Of course, who predicted the Bengals putting up 58 points?

Prediction: Unless there are some upsets in the NFL, Preds will continue to have 1 game lead on Opihi

** Actual: Preds 156.75 – Undead 167.80

Royal Hawaiian Opihi (7-5) at Philadelphia Freedom (5-7):

Let’s start off 0-2. Opihi had an open door to gain a game on Preds, but couldn’t hang in there on MNF, when Isaac Bruce went off for 25.5 points, giving Freedom the 3.8 point victory. Holt, Lelie & Shockey just didn’t pull their weight for Opihi who now have to watch out for Undead moving on their heels for the Wild Card spot as well as potentially the division title. Freedom are looking like the spoiler more and more. Their team is better then their record and proved it to Opihi as they were looking past the Freedom.

Prediction: Opihi have a let down after last week, but still put up enough to win.

** Actual: Opihi 110.4 to Freedom 114.2

MidWest
Liquid Swords (8-4) at Soap Box Derby Cars (3-9):

Boy did I call this one as a close game. I just didn’t expect it to be as HIGH of score as it was. This has to be the highest over all scoring game out there (correct me if I’m wrong, Sam). This big winners were McGahee, Manning (of course) and Westbrook. Amazingly, both DT were also in the 20s! There is no way Cars have this team and aren’t into the playoffs. PS: Cars, get a RB who started and this victory was yours!

Prediction: This is actually going to be a very close game. I see Swords squeaking one out only due to WR performance.

** Actual: Swords 165.4 to Derby Cars 159.4

Wonder Mutts (10-2) take their league best record to face Jersey Toxic Waste (4-8):

Let’s just say, I need to either stop drinking or start drinking more heavily (Mountain Dew, mind you). Not even close in this one. Mutts were offended by my pick of the Waste and spanked them. Gates, Favre and Dominic Davis rocked (come on Shayne Graham had 16.8). Amazing thing is that Dillon and Bryant were both in the 20s on the bench. Waste had McNabb and James do well, but Suggs not playing and a bunch of let downs by the rest of his team really killed him.
Prediction: I’m actually going with the Waste in an up-set here (mostly because Dillon is going up against Ravens D)

** Actual: Mutts 133.7 to Waste 72.05

West
Bay Area Bloodsucking Insects (4-8) at Urza’s Ragers (7-5):

Ragers keep their one game lead on Dodgers. Brees once again pulled in some serious numbers. Fred Taylor’s 22 points (was without a TD, again). Sammy Morris? Sorry, bub. Not this week. Bloodsucking Insects are still trying to figure out what happened to their RBs. I can tell you, neither team has a passing attack, so DT’s are stacking the line. The surprising one is how far Seattle has fallen. They are happy that Moss may actually be waking up, which is good for them.
Prediction: But, I see Ragers pulling this one out because Alexander is going against a very stingy Bills run D. That and I don’t think they can handle my mocking voice ringing in their ears if they "free fall" again.

** Actual: Ragers 100.6 to Insects 76.35

Brain Dead Squirrel Chasers (4-8) hosting Nittany Dodgers (6-6):

Chasers made a game of it with Houshmandzadeh’s (hey, I got it right) 24.1, but don’t expect that every week. Moss’s return was welcomed, but the Vikings did not want to over-play him. Dodgers really enjoyed Julius Jones embarrassing his brother on Thanksgiving (35.75 points). All but two of his players were in double digits.
Prediction: Unless there is unbelievable happenings in the NFL, Dodgers win

** Actual: Dodgers 132.95 to Squirrel Chasers 99.1

The play-off picture is still really muddled. There is not a single division that has been secured. This is the way football is supposed to be played…bite your nails, add to your ulcers! However, week 13 can settle of lot of those contests. So, watch the waiver wire, don’t be satisfied with your team. Go for the playoffs (or play the spoiler!).

What is up with these potential points? Preds 184.45, Undead 189, Cars 162.4, Mutts 188.9 and Swords 197.85!!! That has to be a record for highest potential points for all teams combined!

Until next week (well, or Thurs or Friday), this is Tank D’Season enjoying his seat on the sidelines!
