Heeeeere’s Johnnnnnnnny…...
Thank you. Thank you. I’ll be here all week….try the veal. Holy-moly, I go away for a little bit and it’s total pandemonium. Rams lose to Dolphins, Cardinals beat Seahawks, Browns nearly beat Eagles (heck it’s the best they can do). And, more importantly, Frenzy-wise: Preds lose, Freedom who whined about never going to win a game is now 3-4. Wow! Just letting you know, my schedule has not really lightened up that much, but I actually missed writing for the league. So, all that said, I’m adapting the set-up. I will be doing a minor write-up for the predictions, but try to get back to my commentary on the TMW (Tuesday Morning Wrap-up) ** Week eight roster page is not available, so if I pick someone (generally last week’s roster) you are not starting, you can file a complaint (not telling you with whom or how). Byes this week: Rams, Browns (no one will miss them), Saints & Bucs. We’ll start this week with Bay Area BA (3-4) going against the Indiana Undead (4-3). Prediction: Not exactly an easy pick since I haven’t paid much attention to any football lately (no web sites, no write ups, no nothing)…so bear with me. I still am taking Undead by a hair. Next up is Urza’s Ragers (4-3) versus Parkwood Predators (6-1): Prediction: Preds are going to want to get going in the right direction again and come up with the win Soap Box DC (1-6) against the now formidable Philly Freedom (3-4): Prediction: Sorry Freedom, kiss of death, I’m picking you this week (I think Leftwich may be your saving grace this year). Folks, he reaches .500!!! Liquid Swords (4-3) facing off against Royal HO (5-2). Prediction: I actually see this as the game of the week. Either team can take this, but I’m going with Opihi to pull out a victory. Now Brain Dead SC (3-4) tackle the Wonder Mutts (5-2): Prediction: Mutts will be too much to let Squirrel Chasers get to .500 Finally, Nittany Dodgers (2-5) clash with Jersey TW (2-5): Prediction: Dodgers just don’t have the fire power to pull this one off (unless there are more upsets in the NFL). Heck, I’ve been wrong before, but I’m going with Toxic Waste to win. Thanks again for your patience while I was trying to straighten my head out (trust me, it’ll take longer than two weeks to do that!!!). You dudes are all awesome and I appreciate the support I received. Enough of the mushy stuff, ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL!!! I didn’t have all the stats and that’s how I see it. Tank D’Season will once again return Tues for the wrap-up. |

Wow, great to see you back Tank!
Nice writeup, short but sweet. And you picked my boys to improve to 7-1 against the West division leaders... very nice! Anyhow, don't push yourself too hard, while your wrtieups are greatly appreciated, you need to take care of yourself 1st. |

Great to have you back!! Now about that whole kiss of death thing... You sure your crystal ball could not be persuaded to go with the Derby Cars?
I agree Leftwich has made the Charles "collarbone" Rogers pick at 1.1 a little less painful. As his season has turned around so has mine. Here's to hoping the little injuries don't start to limit him too much. Of course this is the guy who played a bowl game with a broken leg so I guess he has a high pain tolerance. |

Sam's Take:
nsects vs Undead: The Undead lead this series 2-1, and have won the last two meetings. The Undead are averaging 107.4 points in this series compared to 100.0 for the Insects. Edge: Undead Ragers vs. Preds: The Preds lead this series 3-0, and have outscored the Ragers by a combined 98.6 points in the three games. The Preds biggest win in the series came in 2002 with a 45.55 point thrashing. Big Edge: Preds. Swords vs. Opihi: The Swords lead this series 2-1, despite the Opihi averaging 106.7 points to the Swords 101.0 in the series. The Opihi won big in their win, with a 131.75 to 86.65 beating in 2002. Edge: Push. Chasers vs. Mutts: The Brain Dead Squirrel Chasers absolutely dominate this series. The Chasers have outscored the Mutts by a combined 156.9 points. The Mutts played well in 2001 and scored 128.85 points, but still feel short of the victory. Since then, the Mutts have failed to bring the A, B, or C game to the table against the Chasers. Big Edge: Chasers. Dodgers vs. Waste: The Dodgers lead this series 2-1, with the Waste’s victory coming in 2002. The victory over the Dodgers was the first of 10 in a row that the Waste road to their Championship. The Dodgers average 121.2 points to the Waste’s 106.0 in this series. Slight Edge: Dodgers. |
