This is totally a
pick, well at least in support of the hometown Bills. I probably could have waited till 3.07 to take him, but when we acquired this pick it was specifically with the intention of securing the hometown QB and allowing time for him to develop on the PS for a couple seasons. I was royally pissed when the Bills paid a steep price to move up to 7 and then took Allen over Rosen who was the QB I liked most in the draft by far. It took a few days to get over it. This kid will be given the reigns sooner rather than later to see if he can be the franchise guy they've been missing for 20+ years since Jim Kelly retired. Yes he has a rocket arm, a wicked release and great mobility, but his accuracy (or lack thereof) concerns me. I don't think accuracy is something you can teach at this stage in a players development. On the positive side, Allen has said all the right things since arriving and fits the blue collar mentality of this city well. Although he's from NoCal, he's not from the big cities. Allen is a country boy who worked his parents farm growing up, which installed a strong work ethic in everything he does. Listening to him speak, it's hard not to root for him. All that said, if this pick was made by past Bills administrations I'd be disgusted for months and would bitch about Allen being EJ Manuel 2.0 (who knows that could be the case still, but hoping it's not). Thing is for the first time in 20+ years I actually like, and dare I say believe in the Bills Front Office and Coaching. Sean McDermott and Brandon Beane are breaths of fresh air and appear to be the first legitimate Coach/Front Office combination the Bills have had in 2+ decades. Here's hoping McDermott, Beane, OC Brian Daboll and the Bills scouting staff saw something legit in this kid. The Bills filed a Patent to "Trust the Process" recently... I'm going to do just that. #GoBills #GoPreds

Don't forget to edit the pick # as you used 2.01 on Kirk.

Added my pick comments to the original post, was on the road when I picked and didn't have time to add commentary. Wanted to give Jim the time to get his 2 picks in before he was tied up for a few hours so we could move things along.
