Really?

More like Floyds lube up Scorpions.

Snelling is really worth the 14 spot drop?

He's not worth a 4th rounder, much less that drop. Guess I should have been watching the boards today. I've got an extra bag of balls to trade for a 1st.

Your opinion...obviously we felt different...Turner does not seem to be very durable, and Snelling put up good numbers last year...as good a shot as 1.8 is going to be....

I dont think he is,
obviously when i read up on him, i thought he was worth it.
Hes proven he can get the job done, and hes in the last year of his contract, so he could move on next year and be a starter somewhere, and thats better than anyone else i could get at the 1.8 spot. He's still young and cheap.

WOW. How did he prove he can get the job done? Other than the last week of the season vs TB (who really wasn't trying), what did he do? And NOW look what you could have gotten at 1.08.

Seriously, i have to laugh at this last post.
first, no way i would expect everyone to pass on Dez bryant andhim fall to 1.8, so i cant go based on hind site.
2nd, all i have to say is look at his points, for half a season, if he does that in a full season, hes the top RB in the league. and maybe you shoudl go read up on him.

All I am saying is it's not worth giving up that much of a drop for the chance that, after this year, some team decides to give the starting role to a 27 yr old RB. I can't see him being more than a 3RB or injury replacement at best.

Michale Turner was 27 last year, worked out pretty good.

Turner had shown more over a longer time period in San Diego that he was a quality back. Snelling has had a decent game or two against bad teams, but otherwise hasn't shown anything. If some team actually makes him their #1, he'll fail miserably.

We shall see.
For most picks, i can throw out some good players who busted big time, every oen thought they were the 2nd coming, and they went falt on thier face laurence philips ring a bell, or those who came out of no where, Terrel Davis.
If any one of use coudl truely pick the best backs for the best situations, then I think we wouldnt be playing this game,
To me hes not a #1 back, but hes more a sure thing than who would have been there at 1.8

After reading Burt's interpretation of the RENEG rules this one is incorrect. Snelling is ineligible for a 150/5% reneg as he has 2 years on his contract.

If you reneg him he needs to have 300 added to his contract for a value of 647/5yrs.

I am not sure what you mean by my interpretation of the rules, unless you are referring to Shep's question on being able to renegotiate a player who still has two years left...I just posted the rule.

We have ALWAYS allowed traded players to be renegotiated for 150cb/5% increase. My interpretation of the rule would be that a player traded can always be renegotiated at 150cb/5% increase, regardless of how many years are left on their contract, whereas a player you have under contract, can only be renegotiated if they have 2 years or more left on their contract - at 300/10%... both are an increase of whichever is greatest....that is how we have done it since SAC'd inception...not sure why all of a sudden vets are questioning this?

WRONG!!

That's why players on 1 year deals are more attractive to trade for because they are a cheaper reneg. Re-read the rules.... and read the 2nd paragraph.

This would be incorrect Burt. If you recall, I traded Frank for Marques Colston who had 2 years left on his contract under the assumption that I could reneg him at $150/5%. I even posted something to that affect in one of the strings before completing the trade. After we had consumated the deal and I tried to reneg him, I was told that he could only be renegotiated at the 300/10% because he still had 2 years on his contract.

In the interest of saving all the additional posts, read the section about half way down this post where we basically had this same conversation a year and a half ago (and determined that it was 1yr player = $150/5%, all others are $300/10%).
