Like Johnnie Cochran would have said, "If they're still in the game, you can't use their name."

Of the game in this case is life not just football and it looks like I am in the minority thus far anyhow.

I voted to allow the div's to pick their player, it's not a bidg deal to me (though I liked the theme of honoring the recently deceased that were class acts).

Heck as fierce as Butkus was on the field he's an absolute creampuff (in oh so many ways) off the field. You guys are giving us lotsa material to use against you in smack talk!

I agree, the theme of the fallen hero's is good, but I wouldn't be a stickler on it. However...

Two letters fellas... ED.

If not Mills, how about someone else that fits the theme? I'm sure there is a roll of guys that were honorary enough to get the name.
Actually, did Butkus do these too? Or are you confusing him with Iron Mike Ditka?

I was just pushing the dysfunction idea, but I stand corrected... :o

Didn't he have a stint on Different Strokes too? Maybe that was more Ditka. Either way, the fodder for that division may be huge as Preds keeps pointing out.
