I think Maurice Jones Drew goes from 1572 + 450 (#3 RB) = 2022, but RB we have an RB MAX of 2000 cbs.
Also the bonus for #15 RB is 200 not 250. So Mendenhall should be 781 instead of 831.

The link Burt provided is correct. The rules doc hasn't been updated...since 2005. Anyone want to tackle this?

The rules doc is in the process of being updated... one of the new guys has it on his agenda (in the works, actually!). Thanks "new guy" John (Emerald).

I'm still waiting on Mike (Preds) or anyone to share how to edit the rule book. I've tried a number of different formats while saving the rules but haven't been able to edit. Plan was to save file and rename, using Office Word to delete the outdated charts and info, cut and paste from Forum board, rewrite sections that are incorrect (like RFA compensation to points system), update some incorrect number references, do away with specific dates using 2nd Monday after Rookie draft type of referencing and getting everyone up to speed on number players allowed on roster below blue line (TE,K and Def). Hint: it can be less then 5. Also making sure all know that there are 4 starting lineup variations, not just the 2 listed in rules.
Then when that was done send to commish for verification of accurracy and then replace outdated book. I am locked out of adjusting the rule book...waiting on the key! |

Hey John - when I updated the SAC'd rule book, I had to use an HTML editor. Have you tried that? You should be able to get a free editor on CNET.com?

Burt,
No, I haven't tried that but I will!!! I have 3 of the next 5 days off so if that works I will get cracking on the rule book revision. Thanks for the suggestion! |

NvU works great!!! I'll shoot for this Friday the 7th to send Jim my updated rule book. Again, the body won't change, it will just have the revised rules voted in with correct charts and general dates. When we vote in changes then the rules will be updated accordingly.

You might need to get Patrick (Liquid Swords) to help you upload the finished copy back to PREDS boards via link...I don't think I have the authority to do that...if I do, no idea how...

Frank, I show MJD at 1542cbs after 2010 10% salary increase + 450cbs rookie bonus = 1992 cbs
Also, you are currently over the roster cap and need to make room to get back into compliance. |

Patrick... thanks for helping get the rule book uploaded once we're ready to go.
HERE'S A NEW RULE WE NEED TO ADD... It pertains to Frank's situation with rookie bonuses. I'm suggesting we allow a 7-day grace period if a team is over the salary cap due to rookie bonuses... in order to get in compliance. This would allow TRADES to go through, rather than simply cutting quality players. I don't think we currently have any provisions for salary cap excess due to rookie bonuses. |

FOR THE NEW GUYS...
Allow me to clarify what the "Rookie Bonuses" actually are. They are not simply applied to rookies. Technically, we should be calling it their 'ROOKIE CONTRACT BONUS,' as it lasts as long as their original rookie contract. Once a player either: a) is cut, not claimed & later picked up... or b) finishes out his original contract... then they are no longer eligible for bonuses. This rule was made to equalize the playing field for teams that get a "steal" in the draft... so, over time, they end up paying a more equitable salary. Again, this is only for DRAFTED PLAYERS only. If you trade a drafted player to another team, his rookie contract/salary (and potential future bonus tie-ins) also go along to the new owner. |

I think thats a great idea, if rookie bonuses put you over the cap.
Gives you time to make a deal. |

I sent the 1st copy of the rulebook revision to both Jim and Patrick...
I noticed though I changed the playoff teams from 4 to 6 I didn't change the seedings section and playoff schedule section to reflect the additional 2 teams. I can get to that over the next few days but overall the rules are updated to match the forum revisions. |

I am not sure we need a new rule for this....all increases, rookie bonuses and RFA declarations are done by April 1st..this year was different since things were so out of whack....
But ultimately, each person is responsible for managing their own team - all the tools we have are just that, tools - they are not the Official tracker of each team...if we make a mistake on the website or apps, it is up to the owner to verify and correct those (point them out) - thus everyone should have known that with RFA levels, salary increases and rookie bonuses, exactly where they stood. If I am able to figure it out, you all should have no problem either.... So my standing is if you go over the cap with any of these, you have 24 hours to get back under the cap as of the date these actions are due by. I have no problem giving the offending teams a week to get back under this year, but lets not create an unnecessary rule, when the rule is already there.

All the roster bonuses have been updated on the MFL site. If you see any errors on your team, please let me know.

OK guys. I was trying to determine the diff I had in Meachem's salary, vs what MFL currently shows, and now I am confused as to which Rookie Bonus chart we are using.
Poll and Doc: http://www.predsff.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8969 Sticky: http://www.predsff.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13808 Then this chart as a proposal: http://www.predsff.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8964 The Doc in Poll thread is same as Sticky link...the Proposal is different, and I believe this is what I used to determine the bonuses I posted. So I may have done this incorrectly. Is the Doc posted in the poll the correct version we should be using?

I'd just assumed the most recent ones were consistent. I see now that they're not. Can't deal with this at this point in the day... I think we can throw out the 2006 post... and concentrate on the two others.

Actually, my quick LOOK OVER indicated there ARE some differences between the two most recent polls... noticeably the lower amounts of the WR's, at least. Still needs more investigation.

OK...will need to be done by someone who was here during that time...I was not...for now, I assume the Doc attached to poll should be the final draft, thus what we should go by...let me know if someone finds otherwise, as I went off that doc..

Okay... I've looked it over, and can CONFIRM that the doc attached to the original poll thread...
As well as this link... Are correct. Now... do I need to change what I've already entered into the MFL site? Or are we good? |
