Default From last place in week 7 to #3 in the playoffs!!!

This must be the biggest turn around in history.........How many teams do you know who start the season out 0-7 and then go 7-0 in the second half and get the #3 seed in the playoffs to boot....wow!!!

I just have to say....AMAZING!!!!!

Congrats! Too bad you weren't playing in the Eastern Division... your 7-7 record would have landed you in 4th place! lol Go knock 'em dead in the playoffs, Toxic Waste!!! Remember New England last year!!??!!

The Nittany Dodgers eagerly await the opportunity to avenge the week 8 game that started the 7 game win streak. My formal appology to the league for starting such an anomoly will be defeating you in the playoffs (I believe we are matched up this week, and if not disregard this, and good luck!).

yes, the 1st round playoff matchups are Nittany Dodgers at Jersey Toxic Waste, and Wonder Mutts at Parkwood Prredators.

Jersey and Parkwood will each have a 7 point home-field advantage in their games as the higher seed.

Good luck Dodgers... maybe we'll meet again in the Superbowl and I'll get my 1st ever win against you!

Mike, that reminds me, I have been meaning to inquire about the 7 points home field advantage rule. I understand the concept of trying to give the higher seeded teams some sort of advantage, but isn't 7 points kind of steep? Thats like being able to start 4 WRs instead of 3, or getting a second kicker. I could see something like the home team getting the tie break in event of a tie, but wow, 7 points. I don't remember the P.O. scores from the playoffs last year, but with the number of <1 point victories this year you know its going to come up.

Mike, I will make a prediction, no a guarentee. The Predators will NOT beat my Nittany Dodgers this post season! (I'm not going to explain the reasons for such a guarantee, I'm just quite certain it won't happen ).

Actually, it was a 7 point edge last year as well, been there since day one. If anything the impact is smaller this year with scoring up at the RB and QB positions.

Scoring is perfect IMO BTW.

As for your guarentee, I bet thats because you KNOW you won't make it to the bowl which is the only game we can meet in !

Mike, what I was refering to as far as last year was not the presence of the rule, but to overall closeness of scoring, and wether or not a 7 point advantage makes a difference. A quick look at the historical stats shows that not a single game was withing 7 points during last years postseason. This rule never came into play. Will it this year? I will wager so, and we'll see if we get any complaints from the losers after they experience such an arbitrary rule.

My view is that the higher seed is the higher seed due to their better season, and presumably better team. That is their advantage in the playoffs. Hopefully it won't matter again this post season, because I don't want to see any team get bounced when their players outscored their opponent, but lost due to "home field advantage." Just my opinion of couse, and I don't expect all (or any) to agree with me.

Also, I certain have no idea what you're talking about, insinuating that the Dodgers are not confident of making the Championship. Thats crazy talk. ;)

I like the "home field" advantage rule. I have a similar rule in our local league but instead of the set # of points given it is based on the difference of the seeds of the two teams playing. For example we have 8 teams in our bracket. The 1 seed would play the 8 seed so the 1 seed would get 7(8-1) points. The 2 seed plays the 7 seed so the 2 seed gets 5(7-2) points. Etc etc. Teams work the whole regular season for such an advantage and they deserve since they've done well over 13 or so weeks.

I like the rule the way it is.....imagine a crowd in Buff, GB or Oak....that's easily worth 7 points!!!
