I'm not saying there aren't good players to be found... but the majority of the players that are picked up after the first round will not become guys we'll be counting on in our starting lineups. Role players, maybe.

Greg Jennings is a GREAT example of the exception. He's definitely quality. R.White and Marshall have still to make a name for themselves as consistent solid WRs, in my opinion.

A woman called police to report Buffalo Bills rookie wide receiver James Hardy was beating his father and had pulled a gun.

Fort Wayne police spokesman Michael Joyner said Tuesday no charges were filed because Hardy was gone when officers arrived and Hardy's father did not want to press charges after the incident Sunday afternoon.

The police report quoted the elder Hardy as saying his son has a lot of anger toward him because he was in prison when his son was young.

Neither Hardy nor his agent, Eugene Parker, immediately responded to phone messages seeking comment.

The 6-foot-6 receiver left Indiana a year early to enter the NFL draft and was picked by the Bills in the second round last month.

And he hasn't even played a down yet - probably lucky that his deadbeat father has declined to press charges.

I am guessing this goes to the character concerns that folks referenced for Hardy before the draft. Kind of reminding my of Chris Henry with his size, skills and off field issues

I'm bothered much more by the fact that yet another idiot athlete was packing a weapon. That shit only leads to BAD things.

The animosity between Hardy and his father is well established. Who knows the real story, or why he pulled the gun. I'm more bothered he's carrying a gun in the first place.

I've left a PM with Matt... not sure when he'll be back online. I'll be at my office for another 20 minutes... then off to take my son to soccer practice. I'll be back online tonight after dinner (approximately 2am EST) and will be happy to make my final 2 picks in the 2nd round, if Matt gets to his later tonight. Otherwise, I'll be up again around 1pm EST tommorrow (gotta love that 6 hour time zone change).
