Welcome to 2007! Here are the notes for the first week.
The Black Watch Royal Highlanders have started the season 0-1 in both years of their Frenzy existience. Their 101.35 points was the 5th highest score in team history. Alex Smith's 12.7 points was the 8th highest QB score in team history. Rudi Johnson's 27.55 points was the 4th highest RB score in team history. Chad Johnson's 18.45 points was the 3rd highest WR score in team history. Eric Johnson's 9.7 points was the highest TE score in team history, surpassing Joe Klopefenstein's 5.1 points in week 13 last season. Neil Rackers' 5.5 points was the 10th highest K score in team history. Washington's 7 points on defense was the 6th highest D score in team history. The Parkwood Predators started the season 1-0 for the 5th team in team history, but for the first time since 2004. Antonio Gates' 21.2 points was the 2nd highest TE score in team history, behind only Alge Crumpler's 25.9 points in week 12 of the 2005 season. Gates passed Jeremy Shockey to become the 2nd all time leading tight end in Frenzy history. Gates has 534.4 points in 38 games for a 14.1 average from 2004-07. Shockey has 524 points in 54 games for a 9.7 average from 2002-07. The Philadelphia Freedom started the season 0-1 for the 5th time in team history, but for the first time since 2004. Reggie Wayne's 26 points was the 3rd highest WR score in team history. The Royal Hawaiian Opihi started the season 1-0 for the 3rd straight year, and for the 4th time in team history overall. Jason Witten's 20.6 points was the 4th highest TE score in team history. The Opihi improved to 8-3 lifetime against the Freedom. The Opihi have defeated the Freedom more times than they have any other franchise. The Soap Box Derby Cars started the season 1-0 for the second straight year. The Amish Rake Fighters have started the season 0-1 in both years of their Frenzy existience. Dating back to last season, the Rake Fighters have lost five straight games, tying a team record. Their 81.2 points was the lowest single game total in team history, surpassing their previous worst of 87.75 in week 5 last season against Urza's Ragers. Jeremy Shockey's 6.6 points was the 4th highest TE score in team history. Stephen Gostkowski's 8 points was the 5th highest K score in team history. Philadelphia's 11 points tied the 5th highest D score in team history. Philadelphia passed Tampa Bay to become the all time leading defense in Frenzy history. Philadelphia has 640 points in 61 games for a 10.5 average from 2001-07. Tampa Bay has 636 points in 49 games for a 13.0 average from 2001-05. Randy Moss of the Valencia Absolut became the 4th wide receiver and 17th player overall to score 1000 career Frenzy points. Moss has 1020.25 points in 75 games for a 13.6 average from 2001-07. The Wonder Mutts started the season 1-0 for the 5th time in team history. Tony Romo's 42.8 points was the highest QB score in team history, surpassing the Mutts previous team record of 42.55 points in week 3 of the 2002 season. Minnesota's 27 points on defense was the 3rd highest D score in team history. The Bay Area Bloodsucking Insects started the season 1-0 for the 4th time in team history, but for the first time since 2004. The Insects have won 7 straight regular season games dating back to last season, a team record. The Insects improved to 8-5 lifetime against Urza's Ragers, and have beaten the Ragers more times than they have any other franchise. The Insects won their 20th Divisional game, joining the Predators and Mutts as the only teams to achieve that feat. They Insects are 20-17 within the Western Division. The Nittany Dodgers have started the season 0-1 for the 4th time in team history, but for the first time since 2004. Steve Smith's 21.75 points was the 9th highest WR score in team history. The Urza's Ragers have started the season 0-1 for the 4th straight year, and for the 5th time in team history. Plaxico Burress' 36.4 points was the 2nd highest WR score in team history, behind only Plax's own team record of 37.4 scored in week 4 of the 2005 season. New England's 15 points on defense tied the 7th highest D score in team history. The Ragers fell to 5-8 lifetime against the Insects. The Insects have beaten them more times than any other franchise. Fred Taylor passed Jamal Lewis to become the Ragers' all time leader rusher with 840.55 points in 48 games for a 17.5 average. Lewis had 839.65 points in 43 games for a 19.5 average for the Ragers. Sorry Popes, you'll have to do something more notable next week than just beating my notoriously mediocre squad. |

With many of the teams entering their 6th or 6th years in the league, the history is getting quite extensive. Thanks again for keeping this up over the years. Great stuff Brian.
