Default Todd Heap, Maplewood Mountain Lion Franchise Player

It is not clear when these declarations are due, but as if April 1, Todd Heap's contract will expire, at which time he will become the Mountain Lion's franchise player. He will receive the 20% raise (which is higher than the top 10 average) which will be 1080 for 2006, and will receive a 2 year contract.

Nice, I'm looking at doing the same thing with Randy McMichael.

not that it affected Heaps salary as his 10% was higher, but I believe "Chosen One" and his salary of 500, once put back onto 'active', would raise the top 10 avg from 860 to 879.

Quarterbacks, as I mentioned earlier, would go up a ton. McNabbs 2425, Peppers 2090, and Bulgers 1550 make the top 10 1618 according to the sheet? Does this sound right?

Yea, if they're currently being excluded, that sounds about right.

FYI, I'll make sure we include the IR players for the final numbers. For example with TE's, my Franchise Tag on McMichael would go up to 879 if your numbers are correct.

Again, we'll go by the average of the top 10 contracts as of the final rosters on March 31st, including IR players.

But, we'll use their 2005 salaries, correct? i.e. Darrell Jackson, who only made X dollars this year but was a top 10 paid, but will now be paid Y...his X number is the number that would be included in the top 10? Whoa, I confused myself with that question but I don't know how to better word it.

BTW from the Mcdonalds thread, in CDL a franchise designation was by default a 1-year deal IIRC.

The 2006 salaries will be based on the Top 10 salaries as of 3/31 (including any players 2005 contract, but not their 2006 contract if franchised).

The 2006 contracts with the new Franchise numbers will kick in April 1st.

Yeah, otherwise you'll be on a perpetually growing scale.
