Default Sam's Week 2 Notes

The Ypsilanti Undead have tied their worst record after two weeks at 1-1, which they have done each of the last three seasons. Chicago’s 32 points on defense was the highest ever for an Undead D, surpassing the previous team record of 25 points set by the New York Jets in week 1 of 2002. It also tied the 2nd highest D score in league history. The Undead improve to 8-1 all time vs. the Freedom. Their 8 victories against the Freedom are the highest by any franchise against any other franchise, equaled only by the Predators 8 victories against the Freedom, and the Brain Dead Squirrel Chasers (see below).

The Parkwood Predators have tied their worst record after two weeks at 1-1, which they also did in 2002.

The Philadelphia Freedom have tied their best record after two weeks at 1-1, which they also did in 2001 and 2002. LJ Smith’s 22.4 points was the highest ever for a Freedom tight end, surpassing the previous team record of 18.3 set by Chad Lewis in week 3 of 2001. Philadelphia’s 17 points tied the 4th highest D score in Freedom history. The Freedom became the first team in the league to lose 40 games in their career. The Freedom are 18-40 lifetime.

The Soap Box Derby Cars have their worst record ever after two weeks at 0-2.

The Liquid Swords have their worst record ever after two weeks at 0-2. This is the first time ever the Liquid Swords have lost two games in a row. Joe Horn passed Marvin Harrison to become the Swords 2nd all time leading receiver. Horn has 247.8 points in 15 games for the Swords in 2004-05.

The Jersey Toxic Waste are 2-0 for the 2nd time in team history (2003). The Waste’s 131.65 points was the 10th highest score in team history. John Kasay’s 13.3 points tied the 5th highest kicker score in team history, done also by Jeff Wilkins in week 10 of 2004. The New York Giants D score of 19 tied the 2nd highest score in team history, done also by Miami in week 8 of 2003, and behind only Miami’s 23 points in week 6 of 2003.

The Wonder Mutts are 2-0 for the third time in team history, and the second year in a row. The Mutts’ 156.4 points was the highest score in team history, surpassing the previous team record of 147.95 set in week 9 of 2002. Brett Favre’s 35.15 points was the 4th highest QB score in team history, and highest for the Mutts since Tom Brady had 37.1 points in week 10 of 2002. Brett Favre passed Tom Brady to become the Mutt’s all time leading quarterback. Favre has 460.6 points in 21 games from 2003-05. Brady had 452.5 points in 21 games from 2001-02. Terrell Owens’ 28.8 points tied the 3rd highest WR score in Mutt’s history (done also by Owens in week 1 of 2004). Shayne Graham’s 14 points was the 5th highest kicker score in team history.

Boston had 208.4 points in 17 games from 2002-03 for the Chasers. Randy McMichael passed Shannon Sharpe and Jason Witten to become the Chasers all time leading tight end. This is the most frequent comment I get on my notes. I do this for my local league as well. My opponent this week was the one in that league that had no significant statistical accomplishments. He accused me of purposefully excluding him. In hindsight, that isn't a bad idea.

Wasn't accusing you... just thought it was an oversight because nothing significant happened to me this week (except sitting Steven Davis and his 3 TDs on my bench). No worries, it's all good!
