Should we add a 7th and 8th Round to the 2005 Rookie Draft?

Vote above.

We'd be adding 2 serpentine rounds. Player values would continue to decline at the same ratio until they hit the 100 cb minimum. All incentive bonuses would be = to the 6th round scale.

The draft order for rounds 7 & 8 would be in the original order of rounds 1 and 2
Quote:
2005 SAC'D Rookie Draft order:
7.01 - Jawbone Hill (randilover)
7.02 - Subzero (Keepers)
7.03 - Bay Area Bloodsuckers (Flaxwless)
7.04 - Maplewood Mountain Lions (Dodgers)
7.05 - Glenside Gunslingers (Freedom)
7.06 - Bloomington Eco Warriors (Mutts)
7.07 - Falcon FLoyds (Burt the Butcher)
7.08 - Buffalo Pitbulls (Preds)
7.09 - Valencia Vibe (Valencia)
7.10 - Disciples of the 36 Chambers (Swords)
7.11 - Good Grief (Skippy)
7.12 - Chagrin Falls D. M. K. M. Snow Goons (Rami)

8.01 - Chagrin Falls D. M. K. M. Snow Goons (Rami)
8.02 - Good Grief (Skippy)
8.03 - Disciples of the 36 Chambers (Swords)
8.04 - Valencia Vibe (Valencia)
8.05 - Buffalo Pitbulls (Preds)
8.06 - Falcon FLoyds (Burt the Butcher)
8.07 - Bloomington Eco Warriors (Mutts)
8.08 - Glenside Gunslingers (Freedom)
8.09 - Maplewood Mountain Lions (Dodgers)
8.10 - Bay Area Bloodsuckers (Flaxwless)
8.11 - Subzero (Keepers)
8.12 - Jawbone Hill (randilover)
Edit to add: This will be a 1 time addition to the draft since we're in the inaugural season so we can better fill some Taxi and Practice Squad slots. Future seasons will be the original 6 rounds we proposed.

Just to confirm, this is for 2005 only, and will not carry over to future drafts.

I voted against. I do not like changing the rules once we have started.

I hate to do this, but I agree with Skippy. Majority rules, but I am voting against. It would have changed my draft. As I have been trade happy, I probably would have tried to trade 7 & 8 (if I had known they existed) to get into round 6. now rnd 6 is nearly done and I haven't picked in forever. A couple of players I would have liked to have had I would have tried to trade for. minor whining, but I don't like changing rules in mid-play. I understand the rationale, but feel would should have talked about this at the beginning.

I think this falls into the realm of a mid season rule change (since, in effect, it is a mid draft change). As clearly stated in the Frenzy rules, mid season changes need to be approved unanimously, we have three no votes, and one very good explanation for a no vote. Even though I voted for, I don't believe this should pass.

I'd love to keep drafting... but I agree with Skippy. Round 7 and 8 would have definitely figured into my plans earlier in the draft if available.

As far as I know it starts 5/16. Skippy wants the rules on Word Doc. I haven't done that yet. Who's the secretary anyway. I did put summary of rules on a thread somewhere.

Is 5/16 official? I saw the thread where it was suggested, but I do not remember voting, etc.

EDIT: or are we not voting?

Brian and I will take care of the rules. We've already talked about it.

The tenative plan is for him to get them to me in word from by mid week, and me to have them posted on the site in html by the weekend.

Put it this way, 5/16 is the earliest we'd start the auction. If we don't have the rules and whatnot posted before then, then it would be pushed off to the following Monday (5/23).
