No No No Week 13 (man Sam gots his out before me!)

Here comes the final two games. Don’t have the ‘actual’ rosters, but pretty good guesses based off last week’s starters.

East
Parkwood Predators (8-4) at the Philadelphia Freedom (5-7).

Preds are fighting to retain the division lead as well as keep in the Wild Card race, if they happen to fall from the lead. This is an important division game since they are 3-1 in the division). Freedom is out and though helping the Preds by knocking off the Opihi last week, look to play the spoiler again this week and take out the Preds

Leftwich is going up against Steelers this week, making this tougher for Freedom. Martin & McAllister should play well, but I don’t see fantastic numbers. Bruce and Smith should play well. Preds are looking for Brooks to do something against up and down Carolina DT at home. Pittman is on a great streak right now and LT is facing the Broncos, but he’ll still do well. Colts WR takes turns (how nice) on who’s going to have a big week, so I don’t see Stokley repeating last weeks numbers. Walker and Johnson should both do fine. Baltimore faces the Bengals (can they keep it up?).

Prediction: Freedom’s drive to upset will fall short and Preds will take this one and keep a one-game lead in the division.

Indiana Undead (6-6) at Royal Hawaiian Opihi (7-5) :

Last week’s loss for the Opihi is looking like a drastic loss, since not only they don’t tie the Predators, but also gives the Undead chance for the playoffs. They hope they can repeat week 11, when they CRUSHED the Undead. Both teams are 2-2 in the division. The Undead need to win to even the H2H match-up with the Opihi, then get some help from Predators and others to take out Swords and Dodgers or Ragers for the Wild Card spot.

Undead are looking for Plummer to continue to play well, but it’s against a tough SD DT. Rudi Johnson and Chad Johnson both face the Ravens DT (not good). T Jones should run well against the Vikings. Bennett and Harrison should do well (but see previous note about Colts WR, so Harrison may share his wealth with the TEs this week). Chicago DT is going against Vikings…ouch. Trent Green should throw well vs Raiders. Droughns will have a tough time against SD, while Dunn is splitting time with Duckett (which is never good). All three of the Opihi WR should score in the double digits. Seattle DT should also do well against Dallas.

Prediction: Both teams NEED this win. Opihi marks up the "W" due to tough match-ups for the Undead (must be the jet-lag from traveling to Hawaii).

** side note: Week 12 – top two teams lost to bottom two.

If strange things happen, the season can end with three-way tie for best record here and need to go to tie-breakers.

MidWest
Jersey Toxic Waste (4-8) at Soap Box Derby Cars (3-9):

Both are currently out of the hunt for the playoffs, but playing for pride and draft pick order!

Peyton Manning for the Debry Cars is, well, Peyton Manning…is he going to score six more TDs before the 4th quarter? Westbrook should also have a big game this week. Crumpler and Curry should play well. Waste have McNabb facing the GB secondary that loves to give up yards… Muhammad & Wayne should bounce back from last week, while James continues to run well. Both of these teams are better than their records indicate. This is one tough division.

Prediction: I think the Toxic Waste are going to pull this one out.

Wonder Mutts (10-2) take their league best record to face challenger Liquid Swords (8-4):

Mutts are 4-0 in the division (with an amazing eight game win streak), while Swords only loss is a heart-breakers to those same Mutts in week 11. If the Swords win, not only do the even the H2H match-up with the Mutts for the division title, but also keep up in the Wild Card race if they can’t win the division. This is a vital game for the Swords. Mutts are in (division winner or Wild Card).

Mutts are wondering if Favre can pull it out again (and might against the Eagles)…key there is IF Ahman Green plays. Chris Brown is once again an unknown if he’ll play (don’t trust coach-speak), so watch news wire at noon on Sunday. TO and Gates should both rock (as they have). Tough question for him this week is whether to start Corey Dillon or not… Swords will be hoping Culpepper goes off in Chicago (weather might be a factor). Kevin Jones and Willis McGahee both are hot players. NE DT is playing the hapless Browns (who are on 3rd string, rookie QB McNown).
Prediction: All I have to say is, dang! This is a tough call. This definitely should be a high scoring game again (like week 11). I’m going out on a limb and see the Swords pulling the upset this week (going against the numbers – actually not since the Swords have outscored the Mutts by 54.2 to date).

West
Nittany Dodgers (6-6) at Urza’s Ragers (7-5):

This will pretty much be for the division. Both are 2-2 in the division. Dodgers have the H2H lead, winning in week 11 against the Ragers. Ragers can knock Dodgers entirely out of the playoffs with a victory, while Dodgers can possibly do the same for the Ragers (depending on what happens in the other divisions regards the Wild Card race).

Ragers are in trouble (by the numbers). Brees hopes to repeat Kerry Collins success against Denver, but that’s not certain, and Fred Taylor is going against #1 rush DT in the Steelers. Jamal Lewis is out again and Cleveland’s DT lost their #1 LB. Dodgers hope Julius Jones goes off again, but Burleson and Barber do not appear to have good match-ups either. Delhomme should do well against Saints…
Prediction: This will be a close game (shouldn’t be high scoring either). I see the Dodgers keeping their playoff hopes alive and repeating week 11 victory.

Brain Dead Squirrel Chasers (4-8) at Bay Area Bloodsucking Insects (4-8):

Neither team is in the playoffs, but playing for braggin rights and draft positions.

Chasers are wondering if Ratay or Hasselbeck will be QB this week. None of us are sure. Moss should put up some more numbers (nice to have him back). However, Insects are looking forward to Alexander facing Dallas and Portis going against the Giants. Both should have good games.
Prediction: Insects pull this one out based on RBs. Sorry for the lame write-up, but the teams need some help!

I didn’t have all the stats and that’s how I see it. Tank D’Season will once again return Tues for the wrap-up.

Precisely what happened last season, when I tied for second best record in the league and missed the playoffs!

Looking at the box score this morning, and comparing to scores to others around the league, it is sad that one of these teams has to move on to the post season.

On the other hand, the monster team I built in my local league, the two time defending champions, the team that had an off year and finished only third in the league in points, was eliminated from the post season this week. So, especially if I end up pulling this division out, I guess all things even out, even in the FF world.

Yeah it's pretty sad, both teams scored with low. Reminds you of the year that the Ravens won the Superbowl doesn't it.

My 134 more points looks a little more respectable.

I'm not sure how long the Julius Jones train ride is, but I'm enjoying the trip.
