With the addition of Mister Bündchen, and due to the scheduling conflicts of other QB on Chunks roster, a trade with Preds has been worked out:

Preds gives QB Matt Schaub
Chunks gives QB's Philip Rivers and Alex Smith

Here's hoping the new offenses help both of these QB's in 2013. I've read some very positive articles for both. We'll see if the talk for both of them is hype or legit come September.

This trade is interesting in that Burt was contemplating cutting Rivers while I would have cut Schaub had Jim declined Freeman.

I was going to target Rivers to be my QB2 as a UFA if Burt cut him, and likely could have gotten him for fewer CB's, but swapping Schaub and gaining a cheap QB3 in Alex Smith saved me a cap hit and gave me 2 QB's who hopefully can rebound in 2013 in their new offenses. Smith for 220/2 a very cheap gamble who might do very well in Andy Reid's offense. Rivers is also entering a new offense supposedly more geared towards his skill set. I think he's a much better FF QB than we saw last year, thus willing to see how things shake out with him in a new offense.

If just 1 of the 2 improve on their subpar 2012 seasons this deal will have been worthwhile for me. If they both suck again, oh well, that's life!
