Default Bye Week Rule Change(s)

Maybe it is just me but this week four of my five active WR's are on bye in the Frenzy. Last Week 3 of my 4 active RB's were on bye in the SAC'd. I am wondering if we want to look at any rule changes to account for the fact the NFL now has a number of weeks each year with 6 bye teams. When we created these leagues I think the max would have been 4 teams on bye. With this being a dynasty it is hard to predict year to year who will be on a bye in which week. Since I don't want to cut any of my young WR's I am essentially force to play this week with 1 WR (also I don't have cap flexibility to move a player around).

Not sure what the options might be but from a competetive standpoint it feels like it might be good to allow teams some options to field a more viable team.

What? You have exact same team in Frenzy and SAC'd? 7-1 in SAC'd but only 4-4 in Frenzy? nice...

Good point ... Off the top of my head, maybe we can make more flexibility in our lineup...maybe going to something similar to what Yahoo does...have two Flex positions...one either RB or WR, and one either WR or TE?

Not sure though...I guess those are the hazards of having too many long term deals - each year we should have enough open slots to give us the flexibility...

I wish my Frenzy team was a good as my Sac'd team. I agree that I am a victim of having too many long term deals but I am trying to build a dynasty. This is especially important in the Frenzy since we can't reneg players. When I traded for Crabtree and Britt last year it was to build quality for the long term at WR. However, I had no way of knowing when their byes would fall in future years. I mean to have 4 out of five in one week in just bad luck but it also hurts the competitiveness of the league since Jim should have no trouble picking up the win this week. Of course I think he has bye issues at RB so who knows.

Don't be so sure, Matt. BOTH of my starting RBs are on a bye this week... and I only have 3 WRs ready to go. I'm guessing the RBs will be my downfall this week, as I'm starting two backups who will only get marginal playing time. Should be interesting!

Just as I thought... my RB dearth proved my undoing. Good RBs (or in this case, even "serviceable RBs!") beat WRs any day of the week (and twice on Sundays).

Good win, Matt.
