OK guys, since we had to push the start date of RFA bidding back a couple of weeks, do we want to push the end back a couple of weeks also? If we do, then we either push back the Rookie Draft, or we have it run simultaneously for the first week or so? I vote to extend the same time we pushed it back, and still start rookie draft on the planned date to get our calendar back in order, but would like what to hear what the rest of you think...so....
Thoughts? I think we can all handle having both go at same time, but let's hear what the rest of you have to say.....I will have a hard time accepting anyones thinking we should cut 2 weeks off the RFA time frame, and don't expect anyone to request that... Thanks for your input

I don't see any reason not to push back the Rookie Draft. It's a long off-season.

Don't care either way. I'll go with the majority.

I'm fine with pushing out the Rookie draft. If it gets into June, there might be some weekends where my availability is a bit limited with being out of town.

Good point BigMash. I will be out of town for two weeks starting June 10, so I'd like to have the Rookie Draft wrapped up by then if possible.
Burt - can you give us a starting date for the Rookie Draft to base this off of?

well, that is kind of what this whole discussion was about...I feel we can all handle having both running at same time, but I do not want it going into June, since that would push back the UFA bidding startup, and that usually takes the longest of all 3.
According to the rules, we should start the rookie draft 2 weeks after the actual NFL draft.

What if we said the draft starts on May 11? I think that is the normal date but that would give us three full weeks to get through what will probably be less than 90 picks.

RFA bidding will close 11:59pm Friday May 8th.
Rookie Draft will officially begin 12:01am Monday May 11th. Rules governing end of RFA period are still in effect. Carry on......
