Default 2005 Top 10 Avg Salaries for Franchise Players

As of this morning, the Top 10 average salaries* for each position are:

QB - 1626
RB - 3540
WR - 2038
TE - 879
K - 162

DL - 480
LB - 950
DB - 678

*Note, this is still a fluid number which could change pending contract renegotitaions or cuts prior to April 1st.

Each team may franchise 1 player in the final year of their contract for a 1 year period for a contract equal to the top 10 average salary at their position, or a 20% raise, whichever is higher.

BTW, were are the 2007 Franchise numbers? When I was looking a giving Jason Taylor a franchise tag I knew something did not seem right. The issue was that his 2006 salary with a 20% would have put him over $1,000 for the 2007 season.

However, in looking some of the offers tendered I was wondering if there was a spot where the 2007 were saved?

Working on it. Hope to have 2007 roster app finalized this evening and Burt and I will work on adjusting any discrepancies b/n the app and the web site...once those issues are resolved it will be ready for release. I'll then prep it for the 2008 roster app.

This should be available on any of the 2007 versions of the roster app. I believe the franchise tags are based on the average of the top five at the position from 2006, with a minimum of a 20% bump. If Taylor was franchised at an amount less than a 20% raise, I'd say you got a gift last year.

Franchise tags are average of top 10 salaries from 2007 (with salary increases counting up until renegs are allowed) or 20% increase, whichever is greater. All salaries are counted, including PS and TS players.....any player under contract as of March 31 midnight, when 2007 contract year expires.
