Comments on a league idea

In the boredom of the NFL summer doldrums, I've been toying with a new league idea, so I thought I would check if anybody has comments or experience.

The idea is a dynasty league with, say, 10 starters, no bench players and 1-2 IR spots. It would really prompt owners to think hard about their season plan and be very active on the waiver wire and with their lineups. If you have ADP, for example, you don't want to drop him into the free agents pool, but you have to plan around his bye week somehow. If you have a player who gets injured long-term, you can put him on IR, but if he is listed as doubtful for one game, do you drop and replace him last minute or do you just put him in the lineup anyway? Should make for a lot of strategic thinking and cost-benefit analysis.

In the off-season, there will be no rookie draft, just bi-weekly or monthly "waiver wires" where you can "drop and replace" with the dropped player becoming available right away for the next owner. So your "waiver" strategy could change with every next pick.

Anybody has any thoughts or experience with something like that?

How many would be in the league? 8, 10 or 12 teams?
Guessing you'd have an initial draft, though... as opposed to a bidding system?
