It's a formality, but some teams, like the Vibe for example, had to clear roster space to promote the players back up.

Others may need to clear cap.

ok, so in a case like culpepper where who knows wtf is going on, i can leave him on IR for now?

Nope, IR must be cleared by the 8th. If you don't activate him by the 8th he'll automatically be moved to your active roster IF you chave roster and cap space. If a team is short on roster or cap space, they have 24 hours to get under or the IR player gets released with normal cap penalties applied.

I MUST be missing something here. If they automatically go back to Active Roster on the 8th, then why does anyone promote them a week early?

It doesn't seem like I have a choice, so I guess I activate Culpepper too? Man I'm confused.

It's a formality, but theoretically follow me for a second.

Taxi Squad players are IR eligible. Say a Taxi player was slapped on IR. If you don't declare him back to the Taxi Squad before May 8 he automatically goes to the Active Roster on that day.

Also, if you don't have room in the cap or on the roster, the players get cut. It's a formality, but how ****ing hard is it?
