Veteran WR is Cut, Youth Movement Begins

Today for the final cuts the Insects have released veteran WR, Willie Jackson and rookie 3rd round choice, Doug Jolley. The team had cut Duante Culpepper late last month due to cap purposes.

It is well known that the Insects were percuriously close to the cap with Culpepper on board leaving them little room to make moves in season and for the future free agents in Ricky Williams, Plaxico Burress, and Darell Jackson.

In cutting Willie Jackson, the Insects free up enough room on the active roster to move 3 year WR, Jerry Porter to the active squad after he sign a reported 5 year deal. Bringing Jerry Porter to the active squad gives the Insects a solid young reciving trio in Jackson, Burress, and Porter. Led by vets Jerry Rice and James Trash.

NOTES:

Rookie Not Signed-The Insects have chosen not to sign 3rd Round Pick, Doug Jolley. He has been sidelined throughout training camp and the first preason game.

ROOKIE RBs- It has been reported rookie Rbs, Clinton Portis and Lamar Gordon, have reached agreement to 4 and 5 year contracts, respectively.
