I'm getting new plates made up for the trophy that include more info like team records, the score, who played, etc.
The issue is WHAT SHOULD I CALL THE TITLE GAME? Should it be the "Frenzy Bowl", the "Fantasy Bowl" the "Super Bowl", the "Shark Bowl", the "Bloodbath", the "Blood Bowl" etc? Vote now so we can have an official name to the championship. If you vote "Other" please post your suggestion. Thanks FYI, I want the plates to read something like: ______________________________________ 2001 FRENZY BOWL I CHAMPIONS BAY AREA BLOODSUCKING INSECTS Coach & GM – Frank Alonzo 11-6 Insects over 11-5 Garbage Dogs 93.55 to 43.20 ______________________________________ ______________________________________ 2002 FRENZY BOWL II CHAMPIONS JERSEY TOXIC WASTE Coach & GM – Kyle Clendennen 10-7 Toxic Waste over 13-4 Predators 116.10 to 113.90 ______________________________________ ______________________________________ 2003 FRENZY BOWL III CHAMPIONS PARKWOOD PREDATORS Coach & GM - Mike SantaLucia 11-5 Predators over 10-6 Opihi 169.65 to 89.95 ______________________________________ the text would all be centered... also, to the previous champins (Frank & Kyle)... I can get mini replica's that are about 75% to scale made up for about $45 to $50 a piece if your interested in something to keep. You can bet I'll be getting a replica to place next to my 4 NF-FFL minis Let me know if either of you are interested...

Since you're putting new plates on it and all, any way we can retoractively change the name of teams in the Bowl to their current team name? Sadly, it may be the only way I get my name on the trophy for a while...

Please take this criticism constructively, as I appreciate the effort that has already gone into designing and ordering the trophy, plates and all. But does anyone else think it looks a little funny to have the record of the Frenzy Bowl loser there on the plate? A trophy is not the loser's place to brag....
A humbly suggested alteration: 2001 FRENZY BOWL I CHAMPIONS BAY AREA BLOODSUCKING INSECTS (11-6) Coach & GM – Frank Alonzo Insects 93.55 Garbage Dogs 43.20 Or something like that? |

Actually, I think showing the records for winners and losers allows us to remember the quality of the oppenents each year.
We have had underdogs win the trophy 2 out of 3 years (I'd call this year a push), and I think showing the records of both teams helps to show that. I mean, the Garbage Dogs (now Dodgers) were a quality team in 2001 (#2 seed at 10-4, having a 1st rd bye as well). The Insects came up from the ranks of the wildcards as the 5th seed I believe, with an 8-6 record, knocking off the top 2 teams in the process. In 2002 we all know the cinderalla story of the 0-7 Toxic Waste who then ran off 7 straight to take their division at 7-7 on a tie breaker, and then turned that into a Bowl championship against my 11-3 Predators, it was a major upset. The 1st two Bowls were major upsets, I think reflecting that on the trophy makes sense. In 2003 we had another wildcard team take home the trophy... granted the bigger upset was my wildcard Predators knocking off the Squirrels, but the Opihi were a high quality opponent from a division with 3 very very good teams.

Regardless of the fact that I was on the losing end of things this year, I also like the idea of having the season records for both teams on the trophy... Mike's point about history is well taken. Upsets are worth noting! As for changing the names of the teams to the "current" names... we could be "updating" plates in future years if we adopted this policy. I say we keep it historically accurate. Sorry, Dodgers.
