Player Positions - RB Cordarrelle Patterson

How do we determine player positions and changes to player positions?

I just noticed that Cordarrelle Patterson is listed as a WR on MFL and even that way on roster app since that's how his initial bid was placed, but he has clearly been listed as a RB for the Atlanta Falcons website (https://www.atlantafalcons.com/team/depth-chart) and all kinds of news stories even prior to start of season say he's a RB (for example: https://www.profootballrumors.com/20...t-running-back and https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/player...elle-patterson - see Sept 9 post). For my family league on ESPN, he's clearly listed as a RB too.

Sorry, I never noticed this earlier and surprised no one has previously pointed this out earlier in the season. I took me until this week when playing Preds that I noticed this.

IMO, this is an unfair advantage to be playing a RB in a WR position due to the amount of touches a RB receives compared to a WR.

Thoughts?

So, based on discussions we had previously regarding Montgomery, Patterson should be changed to RB - since both Falcons team page, and Rotoworld list him as RB.

Since games have already started this week, change will be made on Tuesday.

I would like a response from Mike. I highly doubt he was unaware of this situation. He was the biggest proponent in my Montgomery issue.

This is fine.

FWIW, when I bid on him after week 2, he was coming off a week with 7 targets, 5 catches for 58 yards and a TD, and 7 rushes for 11 yards and a TD. MFL had him listed as a WR and at that point I felt he still was. Once Mike Davis started missing time and then wasn't effective upon his return, they started using Patterson more in the run game than the passing game. So I have no issue with him being moved to RB at this time.

For what it’s worth…

The WR with the most rushes in the NFL this year is Rondale Moore with 11 attempts in 8 games. He had one game where he rushed 3 times.

To be clear I haven't watched a single down of Falcons football, not even highlights, and therefore looked at the total points each week and not much more beyond that. Frankly I wasn't even aware Chicago had attempted to convert him to RB the year or 2 before until I researched how he was being used after Pat posted this. I knew he was getting some carries but didn't realize he got 14 in a couple games, games where Davis was out or struggled. I even told Jim when we picked him up the same week in SACD that any carries were a bonus. I thought he was a WR and viewed him that way. Not watching a down of Falcons football, and not reading the stat lines closely I went by MFL.

Pat brought the issue up, and I'm not fighting the move to RB at all after analyzing his stats.
