It been 4 weeks, and for the most part oen fourth of the season. Surprises, shocking unforeseens, disappointments? Fantasy and straight NFL.
For me, Burress fantasy wise is a total surprise. He's on a tear. I laughed when my brother kept him in our one league, but now it looks... genious. TB and MIN are real surprises to me in the NFL. I can't believe they are the total opposite of where I saw them. I also thought ARZ would have given the West a little bit more of a challenge, but Green suffling out OL and other personel for the past 2 years seems to have affected their game. As a homer, I still can't believe the Eagles are chasing the 'Skins for the division. I think (or know) that will not last the season, but there's a part of that that just gets you. |

My thoughts on the season so far is that FF sucks. Between three teams (Frenzy, SACD, and local), I have one 2-2 team, one 1-3 team, and the other will be 2-2 if Favre has a big night tonight for me. It's weeks like this that has me wondering why I play this game.

During the preseason I kept hearing the experts saying how great an offseason the Vikings had.
I kept questioning this. How do you get rid of one of the best (if not the best) football player in the league and think your team has improved. |

Of course, I'm doing well in the Frenzy, SACD and the CDL, with 3-1 records in all 3 leagues, so maybe it's a ying and yang thing.

As far as FF, the league I expected to be the biggest contender in, the Frenzy, has been disappointing thus far and all of it has to do with the poor performance of Culpepper. In SAC'D, it's pretty much been what I'd expected...no intentions of winning this season but hopefully building for future dominance. My two hometown money leagues have been very promising so far, 4-0 in the IFFL and 4-0 in Who's Ear FFL (thank you Steve Smith).
In the NFL, I can't believe the Colts defense has been more dominating than the offense. I knew the Viqueens wouldn't be as good w/o Moss, but I didn't think they'd be this bad. The Dolphins aren't as bad as I thought they'd be but the 49ers are. Plax and lil' Manning have been very impressive so far. Who would've thought Neil Rackers would average 4 FGs per game? And Cadillac has definitely proven that he's by far the most impressive rookie, exceeding my expectations ten fold. Last edited by Liquid Swords; October 3rd, 2005 at 03:59 PM. |

Who woulda thunk that if you take 2 nearly All Pro OT's and a dominating C, and stick some chump FA G's off the street between 'em, you end up with the worst O Line in NFL history?

This is easily the worst start for me in my FF history. 3 money leagues and in two of them I have Kevin Jones and the other I have Daunte...........I hate this game!

I traded Dante for Moss in the offseason. I knew he wouldn't be as good, but this was a total surprise. I felt bad about the trade. But that's FF.
I could see how people thought it would get a little better. It's not like they netted a negative with FA's. Moss left, but they supposedly built up the defense. Cadillac is huge, but you wonder if the durability of a guy in his first year will make it when he's on pace for something like 450 carries. NE is slightly surprising too, no? Everyone thought they'd be right back in it, but losing both coordinators seems to have been a fairly big loss. |
