This is Tank D’Season wrapping up an awesome year in the Feeding Frenzy League. Coming on to a new beat is always tough, even for a veteran, but this is the tops. The Smack. The camaraderie. The articles. The stats (still have no idea where you get all that stuff Sam!). Wow. Talk about one of the greatest fantasy football experiences. For that, Frenzy – one and all – I thank you for supporting your beat writer.

I plan on having a post-season commentary (team recommendations for improvements) and Rookie Draft crib notes and critique. But, that’s all in the future. We seem to have something weighing us down presently (no, not the ice and snow that’s hit the Midwest either). We are talking about a match-up between juggernauts. The reigning Frenzy Bowl champion Parkwood Predators fought their way back to defend their title against a Wonder Mutt team that put together an eight win run in the season and look forward to de-throning the Champs.

Tonight’s (ok, I know it doesn’t start until Friday Night, but cut me some slack) Main Event brings us to Madison Square Gardens with a capacity crowd. There will be full 16 games with several breaks between.

In this corner, the Challenger comes to you wearing scarlet trunks with the canine logo. They bring an amazing 11-4 regular season record (with that eight game win streak) and nail-biting victory last week against their arch-rival Liquid Swords. They enter the match tonight with 3 KO’s under their belt in the regular season. Let’s hear it for, the Wonnnnderrrrrr Muutttttssssssss!!!!!

The Wonder Mutts have lived and died by the QB, the man they already have a bust ready for Canton, the Cajun gun-slinger, Brett Favre. He’s heading this week into dangerous waters. His 3-9 record at the Metrodome does not bode well, but I see this being a game he needs to have another 4th quarter come-back and a lot of passing yards. The Wonder Mutts have two great RBs keeping this team going. Up-and-comer, Dominic Davis had a great game last week but faces a tough Jags DT that is playing for their own post-season chances. Corey Dillon has been given new life in NE and seems to be the main thrust for the Patriot offense this season. He should play well against the Jets who will concentrate on shutting Brady down. Antonio Bryant’s the only Brown I would start and they should be playing from behind, which means whatever QB is in for them, should be airing it out. Darrell Jackson seems to have Matt Hasselbeck’s eye the last few weeks and plans on continuing that trend as they host Arizona. TO’s season ending surgery has been a huge loss for the Mutts, and probably will replace him with Rookie WR Larry Fitzgerald or Rookie Clarence Moore. Both have potential to pull in some good numbers, but need some consistency at QB to help them out. The Mutts do host the league’s best TE in Antonio Gates who should have a monster game, better than some WRs. Top five PK Shayne Graham looks to put up some good numbers as Cincy plays the lowly Giants. Philly will see how good their DT really is without TO to have the other teams nervous. Plus Jevon Kearse wants to show the NFL he should have been picked for the Pro Bowl. This is your Wonder Mutt starting line-up…

And in this corner, wearing the black trunks with gold trim and the Puma logo, we have the defending Cham-p-on of the World, coming in at a stunning 10-5 regular season record with six KO’s, including last weeks thrashing of the Nittany Dodgers, the Parkkkkwoooood Predatorrrrrssssss!!!!!!

The Predators will be riding high on the recent acquisition and total stud, Billy Volek – who faces a Denver DT that made the KC WR look like top shelf liquor. They will also be leaning heavily on the legs of LT2. Tomlinson should follow the lead of Jamal Lewis and also easily break the century mark against the Colts DT (but also bring in a score or two). Michael Pittman has been a blessing and a curse. His numbers since returning to the field have been nothing less than stellar. The only issue is, can he hold on to the ball (having five fumbles in last three games). The Carolina run D hasn’t been able to stop anyone. Five of the WR can produce some serious numbers, but using last weeks roster, we have Andre Johnson hosting the pathetically porous Cleveland Browns, Javon Walker on the receiving end of Brett Favre in what is sure to be a shoot out in Minnesota, and Hines Ward getting a little revenge on the Ravens – who proudly boast the only loss for the Steelers this year. At TE, the Predators have the relatively streaky Jermaine Wiggins, who when he’s on is top in the league. Ryan Longwell should be active in PAT and FG’s this week. And the previously mentioned SD Chargers will be licking their chops at the thought of Cleveland on the road. That is the reigning champion’s starting line-up…

Ok gentlemen. There is no standing Ten Count and no throwing in the towel. Last team standing takes all. TKO will be awarded by the panel of three experts - if warranted. Prediction: Due to some bad match-ups and loss of TO, I see the Predators repeating. No upset this week.
