Time for the Freedom to conduct their annual fire sale.
If the Leftwich rumor is true it’s likely that I have a few players that will be much more valuable to you than to me. In fact, there are actually some pretty good players that will be available to help your team make their playoff run: Starting at RB we can offer you the affordable and highly effective Curtis Martin. His one year deal ($1,600) is a great value as he is currently the third best back in the league (averaging almost 28 points a game). At WR we can offer you two options both in the Top 15 at their position. First is Issac Bruce (#12) who is averaging 13.1 and has a 2 year deal ($963 this year). Second is Jimmy Smith (#13) who is averaging 12.9 and has a one year deal ($1,200). I am looking towards the future (again) so young players and or draft picks (higher the better) are what I am looking for in return. Feel free to make offers as it is likely that at least 2 of these guys could be on the move. |

So why give up the chase so soon? Seriously... the high draft pick isn't THAT valuable is it? |

Draft picks and players are better than finishing 6-8 or 7-7 (as neither of those records are likely to make the playoffs). There is a decent base of players for next year and adding picks or more young players would help as I agree that the corner may have been turned at this point. With 2 players that have one year left but can contribute for someone else it seems silly to hang onto them. Again, if Leftwich is fine than staying the course may be the best option. Otherwise, it back to the future! |

Wanna know what's funny, I actually find myself pulling for your team each week Matt!
We've put you through enough torment and agony, you deserve some wins in the Frenzy! I've enjoyed watching your team develop from a pretender to a contender. You've been in, nearly, every game, and have shown the potential to beat any team in the league this year. |

Well, I am without Leftiwch and Jimmy Smith so I think you actually have the bye week advantage (or it's at least a wash).

With a little over a week until the trade deadline I figured I would bump this back up. These are players who have been producing all year and would likely be able to help a number of squads out there in the hunt for the Frenzy title. All three are very reasonably valued and would not need long term commitments but could help bring you the title this year. To refresh your collective memories:
Curtis Martin- His one year deal ($1,600) is a great value as he is currently the fourth best back in the league (averaging 26.5 points a game) after picking up over 30 points against a previously stout Ravens’ defense. He is averaging about 27 touches a game for 123 yards and a little over a TD a game. Jimmy Smith- averaging 13.7 as the seventh best WR in the league and has a one year deal ($1,200). He is averaging about 5.5 catches a game for 90 yards. Issac Bruce- averaging 13.2 as the tenth best WR in the league and has a 2 year deal ($963 this year). He is averaging about 6.1 catches a game for 87 yards. I am looking towards the future (still) so young players and or draft picks (higher the better) are what I am looking for in return. Feel free to make offers as it is likely that at least 2 of these guys could be on the move. |
