First of all, congrats to Jim on a great season and much deserved validation for that strong Opihi team!
I want to sincerely apologize to everyone for dropping the ball on the roster app. I'm sure it caused confusion for everyone ... My only excuse is a completely overwhelming chain of life events - hopefully culminating in a much anticipated sale of my business early this year. I'm facing the same fantasy football considerations as many have already talked about themselves - I just don't think I can find the time necessary to fairly maintain these leagues. I'd like to stick with the Frenzy as an owner, but my SAC'D future is on life support. Again, congrats to the Opihi! |

Thanks... hope you're able to get things squared away. You're always a strong competitor in this league.

If need be I can catch up the roster app (I don't know offhand its last update) and get it ready for the 2007 season. Depending on how I catch on to it I might take it for 2007 as well.
I only say this pending a possible career change in 2007. I might be switching to a non-office job sometime this year, which would greatly reduce my free time and would make keeping the roster app up difficult. That said, maybe I should just volunteer for catching it up and getting it ready for the off season. Let me know if that needs to be done. |

, yup, my 11yo Jake plays on the school basketball team. He's a little mite, but damn fast, great dribbler, and decent shot. It's catholic school, so anyone who wants to play pretty much makes the team, though he is a starter. Jake also plays on the school ice hockey team, along with Karate workouts 3 days a week (he's a blue belt almost ready for promotion to purple, after that it's brown then black), not to mention guitar lessons on Wednesdays. My older son (Josh, 14) is only in karate 3 days a week (of course a different schedule, he's an orange belt working on his green belt). It's NUTS!

Holy crap, that's busy.
Schools let you play more than one sport at a time? I would think including practice there wouldn't be enough time, but maybe 11 year olds don't practice as much as I remember. I coached the 6th grade girls BB team for my kids catholics school last year, and we couldn't get more than 4 kids to practice most days. They must all have been running crazy like your kids. Ah well. I'll enjoy my 3 and 5 year olds' easy schedule while I can I guess (only hockey for the 5 year old on the table currently). |

As for dual sports, yup, there's nothing against that. In the spring there will be track, as well as baseball (which I think he's gonna skip this year). My younger son is small, but very athletic! His primary focus is Karate, he absolutely loves going to the dojo and hates to miss a Karate class for another sport, he'll often skip basketball or hockey practice so he can go to Karate. Add in our personal schedule of events that we attend as a family and it's really insane for us (2-3 Sabres hockey games a month another 2 pro lacrosse games (Bandits) per month (Jan - April), as well as a couple Theater productions in late January and March. Just a glimpse at our calendar for next week Jan 8-14: Monday - Jake Basketball (4:30) Josh Karate (7-8) followed up by my wife's (Kelly) Cardo class (8-9) Tuesday - Jake Karate (7-8) Wednesday - Jake - Hockey game in afternoon (4:30), followed up by Kelly's (Cardo class) in evening (8-9) Thursday - Jake Karate (6-7) followed up by Josh Karate (7-8) Friday - Bandits lacrosse game (8) Saturday - Jake Karate (10-11), Josh Karate (11-12), Basketball Tourney in afternoon, Sabres game in evening (7) Sunday - Basketball Tourney in afternoon On top of that, we go to Hawaii on April 5th for 16 days and still have to plan what the heck we'll be doing while where there. Gonna be a crazy 3 months till we depart!

Thanks to you all who do the work to keep this league going. If I can do anything to help, I would certainly do what I can.
It was a great season, just disappointed Jim decided to beat me down in the playoffs. I guess it happens. I'm also disappointed that the Colts have to see LJ in the first round. This could be very bad. |
