Default 3.9 RB Jarrett Payton - Tennessee

The name itself implies greatness, and greatness is what Predators Football is all about!

Jarrett is a class act, just like his dad was, and if he even has a smidgeon of his dad's talent he has a good chance to succeed.

Tennessee outbid several teams for his services as a UFA, and with Eddie aging and Brown unproven, anything could happen. Even if Jarrett fails to make the Titans (which I doubt) others will be after his services.

If nothing else, I'm proud to select the lineage of one of the greatest players in NFL history!

Lineage picks, good stuff. Interestingly that was the second Titan backfield player taken in the last 3 picks.

I thought long and hard about taking Jarrett, but I have this nagging feeling that he's gonna be The Heartbreak Kid and not on an NFL roster in 2 years. I very much hope I'm wrong.

That's possible with any pick at this point in the draft, but I wanted at least 1 feel good pick to counter-act the arrogant Eli factor ;)!

You're so down on Eli, maybe I should just take him off your hands for you.

I'll listen to offers ;)

He was too much value to pass up at 12, but his arrogance and his father and whatnot do not impress me. Personally, aside from him being on my Frenzy roster I'd love to see him fall flat on his face ala Ryan Leaf.

Seems like you're offering too much for an updrafted FA rookie running back. I know Grossman and Boller arent lighting the world on fire but is their value that low now?

Yes, i know, im just playing.

You seem so unhappy and dispondant since you drafted him, I would think you would be better off to let him go to me for a mere pittance.

That's because I hat everything Eli stands for. He's a punk with an arrogant attitude. All that being said, at 12 he was a good value, and thus I selected him, but if a trade too good to pass up was offered (like say Losman and Evans ;)) I'd trade Eli away in a heartbeat.
