Insects' GM Challenges Division Leader

Earlier today in a new conference for Sunday night's home game against the Urza's Ragers, Bay Area Bloodsucking Insects' GM and Coach, Frank Alonzo laid out a challenge to Rich when asked about the INsects' defeated streak against their division rivals.

"Are we going to beat them?! Hell yeah we are. There's no way they can come into our place and stop our potent offense. We've got Steve McNair the most dangerous QB in the game and our back field is stocked with Eddie George and the young and talented Lamar Gordon. Then they have to try and stop the #1 WR corps. in the league? So Koren maybe out this week but we've still got L and PLax. I'm sure James will do more than his fair share."

He then became irate when asked if Portis' uncertainty will lead to the Insects defeat.

"What are you talking about? Clinton's situation is out of my hands. I'd love to have him out on the field but I'm really nto too sure on how he'll perform. But what's the worry?! I more than confident Lamar will produce well... well enough to GUARANTEE a VICTORY!"

That declaration from the head coach didn't catch the media off guard, especially prior to the inagural season when Frank said his team woudl win the championship and then it followed suit. When asked to put his money where his mouth is, Frank Alonzo had this to say.

"Well as you know gambling is prhibited by league rules. However I'd be willing to a signature bet if Rich is willing. This is an important game for my team. WE should be 3-0 but Koren decided to be Koren and it ultimatley hurt the team. So I'm looking at this game as two undefeated teams going at it. And my team of course will stay undefeated!"

Strong words. Indeed.

Damn it, damn it. I couldn't get online Sunday to read this thing. Of course I would have taken the bet but it's too late now, maybe next time.
