So the current rule clearly states that all declined players points are added up to yield a specific comp draft slot...it doesn’t say that if I decline on 2 players that I can use both of those declinations for 2 draft slots. Those 2 draft slots will be way lower than a combination of points for a higher draft slot.
The reason I ask this is because this is how the real NFL does comp picks. Each player they lose there is a coordinating comp selection. I would rather have the same number of picks as losses than to lose maybe all 3 players and only 1 pick in return. Thoughts??? (and no, this is how we always have done it doesn’t count as acceptable)

Maybe we should be able to decide how our point will be used. If one person wants the higher pick then then they can have it or if another wants multiple lower picks then that would work too. May depend on how each teams practice squads look at any one time from year to year... my thoughts.

We had talked about this when it first came out. The initial concern was against "stockpiling" late round picks, since back then the 4th rounders were the only ones open for practice squad designation. But now that we've had some reform in this area, I'd be open to reconsidering. Would probably have to be a league-wide vote. But there's still time to get it passed before this year's rookie draft.

I know the original rule was setup to not allow points to be divided up into whatever picks a team prefers to avoid stockpiling of picks in later rounds. It specifically stated in the rules originally, however, it may have been accidentally edited out in revisions over the years.
You can propose whatever you wish in the league forum and the teams can vote on it. My vote will stick with the old fart system as I think it's better than a la carte dividing up the points.
