AP Newswire
In a predicted move today, The Jersey Toxic Waste finally came to a contract agreement with the highly touted running back from Boston College, William Green hours before the start of the draft. Kyle Clendennen turned the corner with a spring in his step and a smile on his face. He tried for a second to play it cool, but it just wouldn’t happen. Not on this day. Not a chance. Clendennen is the Toxic Waste GM/ Head Coach, and Tuesday was one heckuva day to have such a job. With all the interviews, workouts, and film study finally complete, the nervous moments finally a memory, it’s safe to say Clendennen has earned the right to smile. In Boston College RB William Green, the Toxic Waste have their man. Jersey selected Green with the #1 overall pick in the first round of the 2002 NFL Draft. The 6-foot, 221-pound Green ran for 1,559 yards and was a first-team All-American selection last season before declaring himself eligible for the draft. “The guy that we had at the top of our list was William Green,” Clendennen said. “We felt that with the running back situation so thin that we couldn’t pass on a guy who had the speed, the athleticism, the ability to score from anywhere on the field, the fact that he was 220-plus pounds, we really felt that he would add a big dimension to our offense.” The Toxic Waste are also looking to add a veteran back to help Green along in his development and hope to have news in the upcoming weeks about free agents Stephen Davis, Duce Staley and other top backs. Terms of the contract have yet to be disclosed, but Green is expected to get around a 3 or 4 year deal making around 1200 cb’s per season. Ron Stackman Newark Star Ledger |

Excellant article. So I guess that puts the Undead (formerly known as the Vagrants) "unofficially" on the clock so to speak!

I'm guessing they go with Julius Peppers... but Quinten Jammer is a distinct possibility, too!

Nah, I heard they were going to trade down to three so they could grab RoY Williams and a later pick.

Chris Berman told me he heard from a local taxi driver that QB Joey Harrington will be selected next by the Undead. You read it here first folks!

Well, I guess I'd better stop twiddling my thumbs and start drawing up a board! Let's see, am I more worried about Foster's hands or Duckett's knees? Harrington's arm or Carr's ear (where he slings the ball from)? Rookie WRs always stink.... Can I face the open mockery and ridicule if I go with what in my heart I know is the safest bet at #2: Shockey?!?!?
What am I worried about? The #1 pick is always a bust. I can't go wrong. Anybody got a dart board I can borrow? -Jer |

I second the Royal Hawaiians motion to unofficially start the draft today.
On that note, the Dodgers would like to speed up time a bit and take Terry Charles, WR San Diego with the 10th choice in the second round. What? He blew out his knee already? Well, there goes my whole draft board. He was my super sleeper and everything. |

Dodgers... remember you've got the DEVELOPMENTAL SQUAD!!! You can hide Charles away for a decade or so... no worries!

Now you're all pressuring me! You think I haven't noticed that my three divisional rivals post on this board about 10 times as often as everyone else? (How did I get re-aligned into this cut-throat division, anyhoo?) Which means I'm only leaking intelligence to my greatest rivals first!
Surely there must be some tactical advantage if I withold this knowledge from you? Surely, you only want me to reveal my pick so you trade-happy owners can have more time to work the phones in response to my choice! Bah! Fie! All right, I'll give you what you want. But please excuse me if I go get some lunch first! :p -Jer |

If you take Shotkey at 1.02 that will screw up my board

Just wanted to ask my fellow divisional owner (Mr. Undead) to take a little more time in making his "unofficial" pick... as I am working the phones frantically!!!

That must be expensive making all those calls from the islands! I hear e-mail is much cheaper!
