Official 2010 Frenzy RFA Commentary
Post your
hereEveryone please look over your RFA's in official list...some of your declarations were made at previous levels before new levels were passed (Chunks included) - need to let us know if those need to be revised..I guess we still have time to do that, eh Jim? NO... sorry... I haven't finished updating the MFL site... per another thread where Rich (Llamas) asked if we could start on May 5, I've agreed to postpone the start of RFA bidding until then. That will also give me time up finish updating the rest of the teams on the MFL site, so everyone's good to go..
TO REITERATE... RFA BIDDING TO BEGIN ON MAY 5, 2010 JUST AFTER MIDNIGHT (12:01am EST)... (Hope everyone's okay with this final delay... sorry to all who were jacked up to start today!). |

I don't have an issue with that.
Is there any reason we can't go forward with Rookie Draft as scheduled, and have them both going at the same time? Only thing I can think of is people drafting for need in later picks...but really, how much of an impact is that? My ![]() out!

I don't see a problem with having simultaneous activities going on... if your'e drafting for starters in the rookie draft, then you've got bigger issues than we're able to deal with.

I just realized, we can't have rookie draft until RFA process is done, as we could have some Comp picks to throw in the mix....bummer...

No worries... most summers all of the Frenzy "preseason action" is done LONG BEFORE training camps in the NFL start... and there's always some "interesting developments" that happen then which throw our best-laid-plans awry. SO this year, we'll be doing Frenzy stuff closer to "the action" of the NFL camps.
Always look on the bright side of life... |

2 more questions...
We started RFA bidding period May 5th this year - when does it end? I saw some discusion about 30 day period and some other talk about no activity for 48 hours lull creating a "last call" situation but didn't see anything decided other then 30 day period. Now that Ryan Grant's bid hasn't been raised for over 48 hours who initiates the "SOLD" entry and announces that the origional owner has 72 hours to match or decline? Is it the commish, someone else designated or 1 of the parties involved? |

Hey John,
Since RFA normally goes for 30 days, I think we should keep it close to same length. Not sure about the 48 hours lull thing..I can go for that Jim (Opihi) is commish, and will update threads of sold players. But it is still the responsibility of the team who owns the sold RFA players rights to understand the 72 hour Match/Decline clock starts when player is officially sold, not when the commish gets around to updating the thread. Jim lives in Hawaii, so he is several hours behind most of us here in the mainland. So he usually checks when it is late morning to early afternoon for us. Some of us who have admin privs on the boards will update the thread also once in a while, but Jim is in charge of that .

Public Service Announcement
Roddy White will not be matched. You can have the #8 WR from 2009 on your roster for as little 1800 (if no one else bids). |

Just like in SAC'd, the clock does not stop over the weekends for RFA bidding, correct? clock only stops when we are using 24 hours clock....

Sorry guys... was traveling back from Arkansas on Friday... flights got delayed in Chicago... finally home in Hawaii. I've updated the two players who have been sold. Matches pending.
Burt... the 48-hour clock does NOT pause on the weekends during the RFA period. You were correct. |

Well... the OPIHI have just become a major RFA player... because we failed to match the Ryan Grant bid by the Freedom. In case any of you are wondering to yourselves, "What diabolical plan could the defending champ be hatching?!?" rest assured... I JUST SCREWED UP! But hey, now I'm going to make lemonade out of my own lemons! lol
Should be an interesting rest of the off season for me....

Well, considering my most expensive player at the start of the RFA period was Reggie Bush (getting 2 to 3 times the next highest player) the money was there for 2 big ticket RB's. Not sure it will work but we are excited to add Steven Backson (I mean Jackson) and Ryan Grant. Hopefully some of the young WR's will earn their keep and we an be competitive in 2010.

I'd LOVE to have the opportunity. But I'm sure I could work something out! lol
(Especially since I have no RBs... gotta go with the super-stud WR corps!) |

Yah, win 4, cut 2, and no money left after cap hit for those two cuts to get minimum roster...great situation to be in....I guess you guys can all have half your cap tied into 2 players....I have enough ammo already to dominate.. especially if you ONLY have 2 studs....muwahahahahaha
