Now that Mike has given his official resignation... do we want to secure a new owner at this time, or wait until we get closer to the start of the 2008 Frenzy activity time? And, is he the only owner we need to replace... or have others also lost interest?
(I've seen how SAC'D has already started working to make replacements. Not that we have to "keep up with the Jones," but I thought we should at least talk about it. Anyone still around to comment?) |

First off, congrats on the repeat Jim. Great season start to finish.
It's never a bad idea in my mind to get owners sooner rather than later. I really think Smitty needs to be replaced if Mike tried to contact him multiple times with no response. We could give him one more chance to respond, but do we want to to have him come back at the same level? I think it makes more sense just to move on and find a replacement at the same time. That said, I have no leads for new owners. Hopefully someone has some contacts they can pull in. I'd rather get some people in that we know instead of having to troll footballguys.com or something for prospects. |

The sooner we get the replacements in the better so that they can catchup on the Frenzy Rules...

Is this the beginning of the end of FF in PREDS land? Also, if you guys get hard up for a replacement, I can fill in as owner of a team for a year and see if I can handle one more....as long as I don't have to take on any more of the responsibilities of commish/sec/spreadsheet updater/etc....

I just noticed that the last Frenzy post we ever saw from Smitty was when he was pissed off because he couldn't get a multi-year contract for Kenton Keith. This was way back on Oct 20 (pre-Week 7).
http://www.predsff.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11567 Perhaps he decided to punish us by folding up camp at that point (no more transactions, no lineups changes, no voting, etc)??? Last edited by Popes; January 7th, 2008 at 03:20 PM. Reason: added url |

I have a co-worker that would love to take over one of the teams. I've been telling him about the format on a daily basis at work for a few months and he thinks it sounds great. He's played in serpentine draft/non-keeper leagues for many years. We played together in a law school league two years ago (and he won it that year).

I don't know about being the "league organizer," but I'd be happy to help with something in the coming year.

Another thing to consider (maybe as a last resort) would be contraction and going with 10 teams (2 five team divisions). I would prefer to see us stay at 12 in both the Frenzy and SAC'd but if we cannot get there I would rather see both league continue with less teams than just disband.

I don't think finding 2 new owners for Frenzy will be an issue, as long as we can figure out who's willing to do the work to keep this thing running. Contraction would bring up nasty balance issues due to the players already on the contracted teams.
I plan to post something later today to try to move us toward some resolution. |

Also, given how good the Preds and Highlanders are (or could be, if actively managed), it would not be hard to find two people to take them over. In fact, could I trade the Popes franchise for one of them??? ;)
Anyway, I posted a thread to see if we can get a Commish and other positions filled: http://www.predsff.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11940 |

Re: Replacement owner(s)?
I'm considering coming out of retirement to take over a team.
Edit: OK. I've given it some thought and if you still need a replacement owner, count me in! Last edited by Liquid Swords; January 9th, 2008 at 10:48 PM. Reason: committed |
