I don't think so at all.
Here's my reasoning.
I keep Willis for one year. He's not 1st round tender material so next year the best I get for him is a 2nd. My team is not set up for a run this year so I build for the future. I get a 1st round pick for Willis this way.
Also because of the man crush Swords had on TO, I am in a number crunch. I could cut him but I need comparable for 1500 due to cap penalty. This way I am picking up a pick while opening space to make runs at better long term players.
I'm I missing something?
Also, I had a deal in the works with Flax but this one was better IMO - very comparable from two reputative owners.... (you make the call there)
I am trying revamp the time and Willis was a one year option for me IMO.
