I see your point, but don't think the split hit is that big of an obstacle, especially for lower priced players. Joe rode out the season nearly 2g under the cap with 7 (out of 18) players under 121 cbs, and 5 of those 7 clear cut stiffs. He could have made moves with minimal impact next year, hell, he probably could have made moves that would improve him next year.
I'll also add he has 7 players who are IR eligible, many who have been eligible for several weeks. We have IR for a reason.
I'm sorry, I like Joe a lot, but he totally mailed it on on the Frenzy this year.
