I moved up to either deal the 1.3 in a package for Reggie Bush (since earlier Jake had expressed an interest in moving 1.1 but a desire to stay in the top 5), or to take my #2 rated impact player off the board.

The remaining RB's could be studs, but their situations are unclear. Bush is the only certainty IMO. I need a young TE, and LOVE his situation. My recipe for dominant TE's requires an average to poor running game, weak WR's and even a suspect QB who looks for dump offs. Vernon Davis, meet the San Francisco 49ers.

I see immediate and long term gains with this pick. It was certainly difficult to pass on the remaining RB's, but in terms of getting a certain impact player, Davis is the best play.

I'm sure 1.6 will be happy to see LenDale White fall into there laps, but IMO, Davis is worthy of being the 2nd selection, so 3 aint so bad.
