I'm kinda in to local bands that people never heard of, as well as Canadian bands.

Being in Buffalo we're right on the border w/Canada, and fortunately for us, Canadian bands often use Buffalo as there entry point into the US market. We have our own little "Seattle" music scene as a result.

For example, I've been following the Barenaked Ladies since their indie cassette. We used to go see them at bars in the Buffalo area way back when before they were "discovered".

Another Canadian band we followed for a while was Moxy Fruvous, and my wife is currently into Great Big Sea (Celtic Rock).

A local band we're into is called Tom Stahl and the Dangerfields (kinda folk/alternative/rock).

On the pop front, my kids are into NSync and Smashmouth, so I've grown to like them (hard to believe I know)! In fact, I just took my kids to the NSync/Smashmouth concert in Buffalo a couple weeks ago (decent show).

There are so many others, but these are probably the bands I listen to the most.
