Due to a combination of expected and unexpected knee problems, the Nittany Dodgers release Terrell Davis and Dominic Rhodes. Terrell Davis recently anounced his retirement due to continued knee problems. The Dodgers had hoped he would be healthy for a couple of weeks to provide bye week insurance, but those hopes go unfuflilled. Rhodes was acquired during an off season trade, but was lost for the season to a knee injury. The silver lining is that hopefully Edgerrin James will last the season and be the only running back in the box score on a weekly basis as he had been for his first two seasons.

The dodgers will immediately scour the waiver wires for available players.
