Matt,
Didn't we have to turn the WYSIWYG editor off on your account for some reason? That's the easiest wasy to add color and special effects like bolding and underlining.
Go to your User Control Panel, and click on the
Edit Options link. Scroll to the very bottom where it says
Miscellaneous Options, and see which interface you're using.
There are 3 choices...
Basic Interface - (probably what your using)... with this editor you need to insert your own BB tags like [ b ] text [ /b ] for bold text, [ u ] text [ /u ] for underlining text, and [ color=green ] text [ /color ] for colors, etc. (note, I inserted extra spaces in bewtween the [ ] above so that the codes wouldn't work and you could see what I was saying)
Enhanced Interface - a full WYSIWYG edito like Microsoft Word. You can bold, underline, etc. with the same key commands used in Word, or via the drop down boxes. You can also easily change text colors, fonts, and font sizes by using the drop down boxes in the toolbar.
Standard Interface - kind of a merge between the basic editor and the Enhanced editor. It has more drop down features than the basic, but isn't true WYSIWYG like the enhanced interface.
Basically try them all, and see which works best for you.
One negative to the Enhanced Editor is cutting and pasting from other programs like Word. Word has all kinds of hidden tags, and thus it can overload the editor when you paste. Smaller documents are usually OK, but larger docs with a lot of pictures or colors sometimes won't work.
If you're writing something outside of the board, it's best to save it as a .txt doc without any formatting with an editor like Notepad, then paste it onto your post, and use the Enhanced Editor tools to format it the way you prefer.
