Special Report on Feeding Frenzy Week Three.

Before the end of MNF, I was contemplating on how to do this. You see, Tank D’Season is a man of honor and good to his word.

I will lay my humility at the feet of the Parkwood Predators who proved me wrong on the field of battle. I apologize to Aaron Brooks, Kevan Barlow, LaDainian Tomlinson, Andre Johnson, Javon Walker, Hines Ward, Boo Williams, Billy Cundiff and the Baltimore DT. These noble players worked diligently and uncomplaining all week, as they do every week, in the face of back to back predictions against them. Not a word was spoken by these players against my feelings of the game’s outcome. No retort or mud-slinging. For this, I take my hat off to you.

Aaron Brooks had a stellar game against the Rams DT without Duece McAllister, putting immense pressure on himself to step it up and he did. Kevan Barlow fought for every yard against a tough Seattle DT, knowing that SF passing attack was limited, he took it upon himself to force the ball forward, earning every inch for the Predators. LaDainian Tomlinson went into the thin air of Denver and toiled while the SD passing game sputtered. Eight or nine men in the box is what he faced, but kept gaining yards. Andre Johnson went for nearly 100 yards against KC, knowing that he needed to get his running game a break. Hines Ward played not only against a stellar DT with a rookie QB, but he also played in post-hurricane conditions, yet pulled out almost 100 yards and a TD. Boo Williams stepped to participate this week and caught three passes for 38 yards. Billy Cundiff was thankful he was able to help the team out, tough he wished he could have done more than simply three points. And the Baltimore DT showed it’s true style in dominating the Cincinnati Bengals, crushing their spirits, to once again be the Defense to fear in the NFL.

I have left one player off. This is Javon Walker who not only stepped up his game this week when it counted, but blasted his way past all expectations for 198 yards and 3 TDs. This was a performance to admire and remember. He tells me afterward it was not my comments that motivated him to perform, but this is what owner/GM/coach Mike Santa Lucia brought him in for and didn’t want to disappoint him since he was given this opportunity to play for the man he’s admired his whole career. He’s hoping this performance will earn his a weekly roster spot on the awesome Parkwood Predator team.

I agreed with him and wished him the best in the future. After watching and talking to these players this week, I have a new respect not only for them as individuals, but for the team as a whole – which, of course, is a glowing example of their leader, Mr. Santa Lucia. I admit the error of my ways, and ask forgiveness for doubting this awesome team.
