I think this was by far your smartest way out of the cap hell you found yourself in. Kudos for making the right decision, I know it hurt!

In the end, you still have a very good young core and got a 2nd young stud RB. I woulda been stunned if you traded away your young core or cut several players so you could carry 3 stud RB's.

I gotta hand it to Joe as well for having the guts to call your bluff. Both of had buku balls in this incident!
