Just to let you all know, I updated the 2004 roster app last night to reflect this change.
On the app you will note 2 purple colums (after the 5 years of salaries). The 1st column indicates the signing bonus hit (if any) you would take if you cut a player that season, the 2nd column indicates the total cap hit to release that player (the 20% of current salary and the signing bonus).
I know that the existing contracts will be grandfathered in, but I thought you might want to see how this would shake out. When a player is cut I'll just enter a zero in the signing bonus column for players that were grandfathered before this rule passed.
I'll probably inicate the grandfathered contracts by changing all the grandfathered player names to 1 color (say navy) with the non grandfathered players any other color.
