Matt, whether this passes (which is likely) or fails really has little to do with the my supplimental compensation idea for lost RFA's.
As for that proposal, come join the dark side (as I told the Insects ;)).
I put a lot of thought into writing that proposal and backed it up with historical fact. The supplimental compensation picks are sound and will not adversly effect the 1st round at all, and will only have limited impact on the 2nd round (maybe push picks back 1 or 2 picks). The 3rd round is the round most impacted by this (with the majority of supplimentals coming in at the end of the 2nd round), but then again, we're talking the
3rd round, no studs yet have emerged from the 3rd round. In fact the best 2 players so far have been an emerging Bryant Westbrook who was CUT year 1 (he's now entering his 3rd year), and Doug Jolley who excelled year 1 and regressed in his sophmore season.
