Best wishes to the entire Pred's family.

Thanks David. Everyone is mostly recovered. My wife had the worst of it, and still has some minor sinus issues and lost of taste and smell (smell is gradually coming back, taste not as much).
As for side effects with the vaccines, don't let them scare you off. The side effects are generally minimal and typically very short term (1-3 days). I know dozens and dozens of people who are now fully vaccinated, some with no side effects, some with really minor side effects for a day or 2, and only 1 I can think of who experienced side effects for around 3 days. Her case was a major outlier, and likely had a lot to do with the antibodies she still had in her system from contracting Covid months earlier.
BTW, a nurse on my staff who is fully vaccinated, is now going through a similar experience as I did. Her husband and son are Covid positive (with hockey again the likely source). Like me, she hasn't experienced any symptoms despite being exposed to high viral loads.
The Moderna and Pfizer vaccines are outstanding. I strongly recommend that everyone get them as soon as you're eligible. Good luck!
