If needed, I would volunteer to manage the extra team. I had to do this in the past due to an owner dropping mid-season in another league I run. I would manage the teams as separate entities, no trades between my team and the other team, FA with only one of the teams bidding on a player, game day - field best team, etc...

Would be sure to keep everything above board and make a plan to try to improve the team. We can try to find a new owner next season, when the world is closer to normal.
