Nittany Dodgers is on a distinguished road
Default Week 4 matchups

Week 4 Preview:

Philadelphia Freedom (1-2) at Royal Hawaiian Opihi (2-1)
Soap Box Derby Car (0-3) at Liquid Swords (1-2)
Wonder Mutts (0-3) at Jersey Toxic Waste (2-1)
Brain Dead Squirrel Chasers (2-1) at Nittany Dodgers (0-3)
Urza's Ragers (3-0) at Bay Area Bloodsucking Insects (2-1)
Indiana Undead (2-1) at Parkwood Predators (3-0)

We head back to Divisional Matchups this week. The game of the week has to be between Urza’s Ragers, and the Bay Area Bloodsucking Insects, two of the three highest scoring teams in the league thus far. The Ragers have dominated the head to head series thus far, winning all four previous meetings, winning by an average of 128.7 to 99.2. The Ragers can remain alone in first with a win, while the Bloodsuckers can get a share of first with a victory. Edge: Ragers.

The Undead travel to Predator territory this week in another great matchup. Both teams have shown explosive scoring potential, with the Predators posting a high score of 141.3 in week one, and the Undead with 150.5 in week two. The series is currently tied 2-2, with the Predators taking both games in 2001, and the Undead sweeping 2002. The Undead hold a slight scoring edge of 115.3 to 110.8 in the four games. A loss would mean the second division loss already in the young season, so this is an important matchup. Slight Edge: Predators.

The Philadelphia Freedom make the long journey to the islands this week to meet the Royal Hawaiian Opihi. The Opihi need a win to keep close to the front of the division, as the other two front runners are meeting each other. The Freedom need a victory in order to avoid falling too far back too soon. The series is tied at 2-2, with the teams splitting each of the first two season series. The Freedom hold a slight scoring edge in the games so far, averaging 104.4 points to the Opihi’s 97.8. Edge: Opihi.

The high powered Brain Dead Squirrel Chasers look to roll over the winless Nittany Dodgers. There doesn’t seem to be much question about the outcome of this match up, with the Chasers averaging over 43 points a game more than the Dodgers so far this year. The Dodgers have the edge in the series so far, winning 3 of the four games, and outscoring the Squirrels 129.8 to 111.7, but that trend does not look to continue. The Squirrel’s already have one divisional loss, so they need to take care and not look past the Dodgers. Big Edge: Squirrel Chasers.

The winless Wonder Mutts travel to the Jersey Toxic Waste this week. This match up is closer than their respective records would make it appear. Both teams have suffered from down weeks, but the Waste have had more luck with the schedule, resulting in two victories. A mere 2.05 points separate them so far this year. The series is tied thus far at 2-2, but the Toxic Waste have played better, scoring an average of 111 points to the Mutts 95.5 in the four games. Slight Edge: Toxic Waste

Out of respect for our two newest owners, I will not annoint this game the toilet bowl game of the week. Rather, I will just point out our final game consists of the Soap Box Derby Car, the Liquid Swords, and their one combined victory. The Soap Box Derby Car is the low scoring team of the league, and the Swords are right in the middle. This division is wide open, so while a victory will help either team’s cause, a loss won’t secure the fate other anyone just yet. The Derby Cars have won 3 of the previous 4 matchups, and hold a scoring edge of 109.4 to 101.2 average in those games. Edge: Liquid Swords.
