HONOLULU (AP) - The Royal Hawaiian Opihi proudly announce the dual signing of two placekickers for the 2003 Feeding Frenzy Football Season. Arguably the #1 kicker going into the 2003 NFL season, David Akers (Philly) brings his golden foot to the islands, to help the Opihi rise up above divisional rivals of the Undead, Predators and Freedom. Skeptics question the Opihi's focusing on the "lesser" positions in the early days of the UFA signing period. Owner Jim White had this to say: "Sure, normally fantasy football Ds & Ks don't make much of a difference... but our team lost so many close games last season, we have to think that our recent signing of the #1 NFL Defense (Tampa Bay) and arguably the #1 NFL kicker (Akers)... along with that Feely kid from the much-improving Dirty Birds... put the Opihi in a position to close out close games vs. opponents." In the meantime, even with training camp still a month and a half away, both Feely and Akers were reported to already be heading out to the islands to "get adjusted to island life." Management will have plenty of mai tais, grass skirted hula dancers, and leis available on their arrival (but don't tell teammate Travis Henry, he's still on restriction!). Aloha!
