2.03 DL Mario Williams, Houston

Yup, I did it, I just drafted an IDP high. But 215 for a DL aint so bad, especially one that happened to go #1 overall in the NFL draft OVER Reggie Bush.

Okay, now this IDP thing is reallt throwing me for a loop. Especially the decisiveness with which the pick was made. Anyhow, I was thinking that we would see IDP's start to go in the middle of round but I guess with the comp picks that is about where we are now.

Nice pick, btw, since the rest of the DL rookies are pretty weak.

Oh I bluffed some other positions, but Mario was the guy I targeted when I slid down and let Lewis go. This was an easy decision.

So THERE Brian, I didn't even think to trade down here!

I am not really that surprised. This years rookie class is so much stronger on the defensive side than offense. After the first 10 or so IOP's, the droppoff in talent seems to be more than in previous years, while there appear to be a ton of talented IDP's.

probably because i value the top DL around 350. too inconsitent of a position.

Which brings up a good point. Should we be paying 2.3 dollars for a 2.7 pick?

WTF are you guys talking about?

When Doggs put 2.3 (2.7) he was talking about the draft slots, not the pay scale. He was saying that 2.13 was really 2.7 without comps.

215 cb's is what DL is paid out of the 2.3 slot.

No, what Doggs meant is in a 12 team draft, 2.3 would be the 15 player selected. With comp picks, he was the 19 player selected. The 2.3 slot is actually 2.7 without comp picks....

BTW, this pick seems to have killed the momentum here...

This was a perfect pick. 215 is way cheap for a starting stud DL (assuming he'll do well, here, as HOU is doing the same).
