Re: Doggler and Burt Trade

Confirmed.

This gives me a stud WR and an extra late first rounder. Hated to give up FWP, but I was pretty deep in RB and 1.03 should get me another, so could afford to to strengthen one of my areas of apparent weakness.

Gives Doggs a stud RB to go with Edge (assuming he get's him back)

Re: Doggler and Burt Trade

Actually - I checked the following:

Still under cap? Check
Still under years? Check
Still under total players? Check (hence the 2 scrubs to Burt)

HOWEVER i think i'm over on off. players, SO....but has confirmed the following

replace Kaesviharn with Az Hakim(100/1) and we should both be in compliance

Re: Doggler and Burt Trade

I'm not a 4 QB, 2 RB type of guy. Did Jack go all year with just 2 RBs and hope to get lucky with injuries?

Burress is going to continue to be a monster with Eli growing, but I needed to give up something of value in order to get value. I realize FWP may very well be sharing time with a big dude again in 2006, but I'll take that risk. I didn't want to take Brandon Jones as I don't think things look good for a guy like him in TEN....not only does he have to compete (off of injury even) with other solid 2nd year guys and Calico, but they brought in Givens. Ugly situation. But his cap hit won't even be that bad if things don't work out for him. Henderson? I like him but Stallworth finally put it mostly together last year and Horn isn't done yet.

We'll see where this gets me. Time to look for trade #2.

Sadly, I have to report a kink in this trade, while updating both apps to reflect all the changes, I noticed that Subzero had previously traded his 2006 1st to the Mountain Lions. http://predsff.com/forums/showthread...6349#post46349

Sorry Doggs, the apps weren't accurate. :(

Can you guys rework term around that? Maybe include Doggs 2007 1st instead?

Argh.

We'll get together and see what we can conjure up.

Re: Doggler and Burt Trade

OK.

Burt to confirm. Here's what we'll do:
Floyds get:
Plaxico Burress(655/3)
Jamie Martin(100/1)
Az Hakim(100/1)
former-Subzero 2007 1st*
former-Subzero pick 3.09

unnamed doggler team gets:
FAST Willie Parker(122/5)
Devery Henderson(100/3)
Brandon Jones(100/5)
Deangelo Hall(150/1) <- added in edit
Floyds pick 2.03
Floyds pick 5.03

* the following condition applies to dogglers 2007 1st:
-If dogglers 2007 pick is between 1.1 and 1.4, then:
doggler gives his 2007 4th, floyds give their 2007 2nd

-If dogglers 2007 pick is between 1.10 and 1.12 then:
doggler gives his 2007 2nd, floyds give their 2007 4th

Didn't we have this come up last year in the Frenzy, Mike? Currently, technically, a 2007 draft pick is two years away, which means trading of those picks is not allowed until the 2006 year. No?

Yes, this was the Charles Rogers rule. Jim and I were trying to do a deal that would have involved a conditional pick for the 2006 draft (prior to the 2005 draft happening). We were told that, that meant it was two years.

And I thought in the CDL we resolved the same issue by considering draft picks from 2007 eligible for trading once the 2005 season concluded. That was how I understood it, but whatever it is here is whatever I abide by.

Let me know what the interpretation is. It seems I'm running out of options to make this deal work.

Y, I forgot about April 1 starting the new year for this, but I think we could bend the rules here in light of the situation.

Doggler was working off of bad information, and it was our fault. Lets give the guy a break.

I have no problem with that.

It's the new "relaxed" Preds speaking BTW. ;)

Re: Doggler and Burt Trade

All the players involved either have multi-year deals, or will be getting dropped on April 1st, so either way I don't think it matters. If we have to wait until April 1st, it'll still work, just with less players going back and forth. Doggs was thinking of renegging Hall, but I don't really think he was that big on it either way.

No kidding. I recall you being the driving force against the trade scenario last year. I'm sure Matt appreciates the new and improved Preds.

A day (year) late and dollar short!! Oh, well Rogers would not have netted me much more anyway since it was a conditional pick and his typical condition seems to be injured!

The 2007 1st rounder I got in this deal from Doggs isn't reflected in the Draft Tracker app

Relax, I haven't touched the draft tracker in months and honestly don't feel like updating it any time soon. As it is, I dread updating MFL with all the transactions once a week. When the time comes we'll get it right.

If anyone wants to volunteer to take over updating things be my guest, I honestly just haven't been as diligent as years past, mainly due to flat out disinterest in FF. And it has nothing to do with my 2-5 record in SACD, I'm 12-2 in my local and 5-2 in the Frenzy, and I pretty much feel just as dissasociated with those leagues.

I fear my retirement from FF is looming in the not too distant future, my heart just hasn't been in it. :Sorry
