RB Deuce McAlister OUT for the year (torn ACL)
 

I don't own him in any league, but it still sucks from a football perspective.

Hi Folks,

Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse for New Orleans.

FOX Sports is reporting that Saints running back Deuce McAllister's knee injury he suffered yesterday is a torn ACL and he will likely miss the rest of the season.

The team will reportedly get a second opinion before making any moves but it looks bad right now. If McAllister is gone, Antowain Smith and Aaron Stecker would carry the load at running back. Smith saw a fair amount of work yesterday with McAllister out and carried the ball 12 times for 36 yards.

With the Patriots in 2001, Smith ran for 1,157 yards and scored 12 rushing TDs and 1 receiving TD. He's been the featured back before obviously. He's got some miles on the tires as he's into his 9th season, but if you're desperate for a running back, it looks like Smith will be the guy there for now.
