Start of the rookie draft?
 

Just wondering if we're going to be starting the draft tomorrow (first Monday in May)... or do we need to wait until all the RFAs have been matched or declined?

Man, I'd sure like to start it tomorrow. I'll be traveling next week, and without internet access from the 8th to the 11th.

Actually, Frenzy rules state that the Rookie Draft is to begin on the 2nd Monday in May each year.

Thus the Frenzy Rookie Draft is slated to begin Monday May 9th.

Um, Mike... I was going by what's printed on the forum description of the ROOKIE DRAFT:

The rookie draft will begin here on the 1st Monday in May each year. Teams will have 24 hours from the time of the previous pick to make their selection.

The rules may say 2nd Monday... but the front page says first Monday.

Also, there's nothing on the "Rules" post that states a date... nor is there anything on our Official Rules page that gives the date.

I had to track this 2nd Monday date down to the 2005 Timeline post that Matt made.

Is there any reason why it needs to be the 2nd Monday? Matt's post says it gives 3 weeks to evaluate the NFL draft. Heck, we'd all done our evaluating 3 days after the draft. Unless people are too wound up in other drafts to give this sufficient attention, why not start tommorrow (or sometime this week?).

If nothing else, we need to be consistent on the website for whatever date the group decides. And probably put a "master calendar" up on our Rules page.

Which is what the timeline states here on the board as well, and what I've been going by.

I messed up the forum description, I'll fix that. I do know last year we decided that 2nd Monday would be the start. I was confusing things with CDL when I updated the forum description earlier this month. :Sorry

Guess I missed that on the official rules... no worries on the forum description... but I'm fairly lazy, so that's what I was going by all this time.

One more week of inactivity...

Sorry, I copied my timeline post out of the rules from last year and updated the dates for 2005 versus 2004.
